As both a buyer and seller on Ebay, I always leave feedback as both. As a buyer, as soon as I get the item and it's good, I leave feedback. My system keeps me organized so I know that I've received everything.

I can understand sellers not leaving feedback until buyers have - ebay is all about the buyer, so as long as the buyer is happy, the seller is happy. There are so many unscrupulous people out there, that they want both the item they bought, plus their money back. I'd say the percentage is probably 3%, but that's still very high.

I'm purely a buyer on Ebay (seller here lol) but whenever I purchase an item I never get feedback, buyer feedback should be left asap after payment is sent, i feel its used as ammunition nowadays for when on the off chance I were to leave negative then they can blast me with a negative ( i have never left negative, nor recieved) just sayin

Sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers, ebaY doesn't allow it. :monkey4.

That said, it's foolish for sellers to leave feedback right away for the buyers. The best time to leave feedback is when the transaction is complete and that doesn't happen until the buyer receives the product and reports back to the seller via feedback. I do this as a seller and as a buyer, I usually wait until I've fully inspected the items received (which admittedly isn't always immediately) before leaving feedback but don't expect feedback in return until after mine is left.

I've just had to go through the unpaid buyers dispute for the first time.
It sucks that we can't leave them negative feedback even though they get a so called unpaid buyers strike against their account.
So unfair, they should get Negative feedback for wasting my time .

x :peace

That's ridiculous. So buyers so can just F you over at will and you just have to take it. Awesome job Ebay.

Been like that for years now. The only weapon sellers have against deadbeat bidders (a term which you aren't allowed to use in the auction BTW), is filing a non-paying bidder alert. Unfortunately, most sellers are ____ing lazy bastards and can't even be bothered with it, just relisting the product which leaves these dillweed buyers to run rampant and continue not fulfilling their obligations.

I understand it can be terrible for sellers. but I had sellers screw me over really bad and i didn't wanted to ruin my feedback by leaving negative.

one seller sold me a toy, it smelled of cigarrete really really really bad. clothes, everything, really awful. the skin color was even damaged. this was years ago. maybe 2008
I tried writing back but at the end i had to keep the thing...
I had sellers cancel the sell for weird reasons but later I saw them re post again with higher price, sometimes it was a nightmare,
I am NOT defending the A__hole buyers, no,i am not, But, before this it was the buyers who could not really leave negative feedback because the sellers would just leave negative back in return,
Either way someone would be affected

I hate when people pay me late and then have the nerve to email me asking where there package is even AFTER I sent them a tracking number. Just check your email dummies and check the status. I have no control over how fast UPS ground delivers.

I don't sell much of anything on eBay, and never had a problem... but wish there was a option to block 0 fb buyers. Another annoying thing, those fake emails.

This is a common problem now since ebay removed the seller from leaving negative feedback for a deadbeat buyer. Ebay has given more power to the buyer than the seller! Weird, because the seller is the one that has to pay their outrageous fees (Including Paypal) and basically meet the buyers standards with the 5 Stars Categories!

I have started checking the "immediate payment required" option on my listings because I'm tired of buyers not sending payment for 5-6 days and in some cases not even paying for items. There have to be more severe repercussions for non-paying buyers. Right now eBay just keeps asking sellers to take it in the you know what, especially with their new 20% final value fee discounts only applying to items with 1-day handling time and at least a 14 day return period.

I just had a buyer take 10 days to pay for 2 Harry Potter busts he bought. Ridiculous. At least he finally paid. He stayed in communication which was good, but kept saying he was watching other busts too. I wanted to say please don't bid on anything else of mine until you pay for these.

Just had a guy email me "is the Brown Shipper Mint".... I didn't answer, but I hate super super picky buyers.

Probably the main reason I hate selling on ebay these days.

With absolutely 0 power in the seller hands, you are basically held prisoner by the buyer.

This extends to the whole buyer protection with paypal, too. I didn't sell or buy on ebay for 2 years (and I rarely use it anymore) when a seller won a dispute almost 2 months after they bought a used video game from me and claimed it didn't work (they won, had to ship it back. the disc was COVERED in fingerprints. cleaned it off. Worked fine). I was willing to provide documentation that the game worked when sold, etc. Didn't even get contacted by paypal wanting to hear my side.

I also didn't know that your phone number was visible to buyers. After I sold my last batch of statues on ebay, 10 seconds after an auction closed I had a phone call from a buyer asking for more info on the box condition (even though I mentioned the box was damaged in the auction).

LOL...my buyer also asked twice "Is everything, boxes included, in PERFECT shape?".

Dude, the busts are mint, but have been displayed and that's why they are listed as used and the boxes, now a few years old and multiple owners later, do have shelf ware.......good grief.

I totally understand people not wanting broken items being pawned off as mint, but boxes get ware and there might be a spec of dust on the statue somewhere. Sorry.

I am going to ask one more time, just to be sure I have every bit of help possible.

What steps should I go about to being sure I do not get screwed as a seller? I want to make sure they can't lie and say the box is empty, etc. And then they get refunded and the item...

Any advice is more than appreciated.
