Can someone please explain this...

I had a winning bidder with 0 feedback from another country. My auction stated that it was US only. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get stiffed, and even if they do pay, I'm not sending cause I'm sure they'll say they never got it.

Anyway, why would someone do this? It's for an iphone. I'm tired of A-holes abusing the system. What's the gain with this?

Can't you cancel it? You did state no international bid? I haven't sell or sold anything yet so I wouldn't know.

Anyway, can't you add insurance? Can't be much cause I did use it once.

It would be best to just cancel the transaction. Tell ebay the situation, refund the money, and wash your hands of it. Not worth the negative to try and complete the deal.

Well I wont do international shipping anymore it's just a hassle and not worth the headache.. You see I only ship domestic but this one guy kept emailing me saying he really wanted to bid on my item badly. So I finally caved in and added international shipping for him and it just so happened the guy won the item. Well when I shipped it to him and customs got a hold of it, the guy decided he didn't want to pay the custom fees. So my item will probably be sent back to me next week which is just a pain in the ass and waste of my time.

Got one non-winning eBayer last week. The item was only AU$2, but he didn't pay until I had to file a non-paying bidder case.

All he gets is an Unpaid Item Strike, which nobody sees anyway but eBay. :slap

You know there is somewhere in the options of ebay that makes it so international bidders cant even bid on your items if you don't want them to.

^^^ That's true. You can set that in your 'Seller Dashboard'. I sell stuff both in eBay.ph (Philippines) and eBay.com.au (Australia), and I don't want Aussies bidding on stuff I have in Phils.

My Internet transactions in general have been ____ty the last couple months. Sellers that ignore my messages, stealing my money, people not honoring their bids and coming up with bull____ excuses, saying I misrepresent an item even thought there are images of all angles of the item. I've been doing Internet transactions since....you could do Internet transactions...but these last couple months are the lowest point ever.

and yes, you can block international bidders by using the "create exclusions" when listing items. You can also set parameters for potential bidders ie no 0 feedback bidders.

eBay with their lack of care for their customers has made me stop using them. It's just a joke. The worse they do us, the less they will make. Sure they won't go broke, but unfortunately they just resort to raising price in this already joked economy. Just doesn't make sense.

eBay always cared more for buyers, despite the selling part of eBay (insertion fees, cuts from our winnings) being the most income-generating for them. :dunno

That's what I meant. They treat their sellers like garbage, and on top of it all, I get to talk to a foreigner that I can barely understand. I hate those guys.

Some buyer is trying to blackmail me by making me pay his custom fees or else he'll neg me. He's the same one I mentioned before.

forward the messages to ebay

Yeah I'm going to see if I can do that. The guy told me that since he already paid a lot for international shipping that it's not fair that he also has to be paying custom fees to. He kept typing "it's not fair...it's not fair...it's not fair" like a kid and then he said "go ahead and refund me $55.00 through paypal or get neg'd".

I looked and can't find anything like this. Ebay is so confusing.

EDIT: Did a google search and found out how to do it. Thanks for the heads up.

If I were you before responding to him, I would contact eBay immediately and tell them he is blackmailing you because according to their rules, the buyer has to pay any Customs Fees. PayPal has the same rules.

Make sure you say to them he is threatening to give you a Negative if you dont pay the Custom Fee for him.

Where is the item? does he have it?

Yeah customs still has it and I definitely let ebay know. This guy told me he's never had to deal with custom fees before; however looking at this guys past purchases I really don't think he has ever bought an item the size and price of a PF that was shipped from overseas. Most of his items consist of $5.00 T-shirts and $3.00 keychains that were shipped within his own country and neighboring European countries, but nothing ever overseas from the US.

I'm seeing a new trend now with Ebay sellers using different accounts to bid up their auctions. I find this a very disgusting practice and very shameful.

Is there any way to cancel an auction win that you know someone has bid up? I've been watching some items and some I have bid on and some I have let go, only to find that I receive a second chance offer or that the item is relisted. It's easy to tell now if people are using other accounts to bid up their own items. Can anything be done, other than to never bid on these people's items?

I havent had a second chance offer before. If you think their is shill bidding your supposed to contact eBay and let them know at this link:

https://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/questions/how-report-violation.html

You said its easy to tell, can you let us know how you can tell? Sometimes ive had my suspicions, but because they hide other usernames that are bidding, im not sure how you can tell unless its just more of a hunch. But if you feel something isnt right, report it to eBay and they will look into it.

well. for one mostly the highest bidder has 0 feedback..
