It has begun.....

Just a little something I'm working on for some ROF figures.

Got a long ways to go. But I'm really having fun building up the structure of the
Dragon head. It's going to be part of a ROF figure Stand/Dio. Dead Dragon with
it's tongue hanging out laying in front of the figure.

Once I build up the structure, I'll shape it more with my dremel.
Then cover it in alligator skin inprinted leather. Then paint, blood and weathering.

Kind of excited, I'm going for it. Got the CGI shots of the dragon head structure
to work with. So I'm going to see how close I can get.

I started with a 1/4 Ceratosaurus Dinosaur Skull. It's pretty good size.
Before I started it was 7-1/8" L x 6-5/8" H and over a pound.
With the build up and then leather skin, it's going to be even bigger and better.

I'll be going for this color scheme.

Thanks. I hope I can do it justice. Though the CGI is the bull head and I'm
going for the female that gets harpooned. So it will differ slightly in some of
the features, but still very close to the bull head.

if and when you make that dragon...please consider casting it and selling it...i would love to buy an unpainted dragon from you!!!!...thats pretty insame!!!

I don't know if this will be able to be molded and casted. It's a vinyl/foam rubber I'm using to build up over the skull.

Dang, I walked upstairs and came into this.

Van Zan going at the dragon head with one of my tools and looking at dead dragon photos on the net....

Heads are at the painters and Tailor is almost done with jacket.

So this little mockup will have to do for now. But as you can see,
Quinn is starting to look more realistic with each step he takes.

The jacket is not the right material in this picture. The jackets from tailor are done in real micro corduroy.
As soon as I get some pictures of the new jackets, I'll post them.

And here is "Herpes" Dragon head(That's what they called her on the set)with the first skin application.

This is done with Black Aligator print leather. Which will be painted later the correct color.
Keep in mind, she'll be laying slightly on her side with the tongue laying partially on the ground.
Oh, don't get me started on the dio/stand...

Needless to say; I'm having so much fun with this one.

Color Test via photoshop...this is kind of what I'll be aiming for. With some brown/grey highlights.
Also battle damage from the harpooning and crash.


That's about as far as I can go until the eye's I ordered come in.

Still a long way to go, but she's coming around.

What do you think??

'Kin love it! Cool as...! Awesome, awesome-ness! 1:6 is totally missing a to scale Dragon (as well as a decent Chewbacca) - ROF was one of the only films I ever liked the look of the beasts - you have done it justice there, mate!

I think Herpes will really come to life when I put the eye set up in, add the paint and battle damage.
Though I hate to add the breaks, cuts and gashes after all the work that has been done.
But for film accurate, it has to happen...

I think I will also be reshaping the teeth to get them closer to this.

Okay, I laid down some paint on Herpes. A lot of the browns didn't come up as much as I
would have liked. So I'll be doing more browns/tans to break up some of greens.

I did reshape each tooth to get closer to the movie version and did some battle damage.
Though the really bad break on one of the side horns has not been done yet.

The eye's should be here this next week and then I can complete her.

I added lots more brown tones and did the broken horn. Very excited to
get this finished.
