Guys I'm not worried
eFX is a top company in my mind

However when you put money down and you want to give them more money for the payment plan and there is no reply then you start to wonder....
Why don't they want my money :dunno

Thanks for the update.. It's nice to hear what's going on from time to time. I'm hoping maybe we can get these by the summer but if not no big deal like most people here have said take your time on this as it is indeed a Grail.

Anyone know if there is a link here from EFX on eFX Star Wars LUKE SKYWALKER X-WING PILOT HELMET?

Im sorry guys, i love Sideshow Freaks, this is a great board, and the people here are the nicest and the best collectors, thats why im here. I came once in a while to see if there are some news about the efx vader helmet, and the sad thing is that every time i came up i found a lot of complains about the lack of "updates" from Efx, post after post. Dont get me wrong, but from my point of view...Who cares??? like someone said: When is ready, is ready. Thats it. C'mon, guys...for 350 bucks ( 999 total ) what do you expect???...You are not buying a car, and even a car company dont sent you updates and kiss your *** just to make you happy. There's plenty of time to get ready for the helmet. Just my opinion. I got my Legend preordered and thats enought for me. I got more important things to do but worried about updates from Efx. Relax !!!.

CHARLES.

I couldn't disagree more with you. Nobody is asking to have their butts kissed, just for a heads up on where things are. When you put a significant deposit on something ($350 is significant for most people), and hear nothing for months and months, then you email a company just to get something back to know they're even in business still, and get no response, it's enough to make someone anxious if not frustrated. It's also poor customer service, to not be available to your customers in any capacity, like EFX has been. If I had gotten a response like Gino just gave us, I would have been happy because I would know they're still on top of it.

I'm sure we'll just agree to disagree on this, but I think you're unfairly discrediting the people who just wanted a quick update after 9 months of silence.

In my opinion, any delay caused by this is well worth it and at times it's absolutely essential to getting the product to look correct according to our vision.

Abso-freaking-lutely. I don't care if it's released next year, if it means I get a superior product. But, please pass along to your buds at EFX, if by chance the process starts to look like it will drag out a lot longer, we would really appreciate a quick note on the site from time to time, or an email saying they're still working things out. Just something to show there's still a pulse on this thing, even if there's not much to report other than you're driving home the quality standards.

I'm stoked to hear quality standards are being so rigid. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Being on both sides, as a collector and as a producer for ARH Studios, I understand this very well. I think efx is a good company and they are not going anywhere. If I had to compare them to a company here in Wa. it would be Valve software. They produce one or two things a year but they are perfectionist. They must do it right.
So I am not worried, but I do agree with you. I think if you or I did not hear anything in a long time (For me its been almost 1.5 years since I put my $350.00 down for my tie fighter) I would get a little agitated and concerned.
I know we dont call guys back either but we dont wait a year and a half! We would loose alot of customers! :slap
You guys know Im always here to answer questions, efx doesnt visit forums often. I would like to see more visits here, in fact why dont we have an Efx section or thread here? Has anyone asked the Mods? I wouldnt mind getting an ARH Studios section either, since we now have products with SS. Makes sense doesnt it?

Now as far as quality products they spend way more time than ARH on products so you know when you buy Efx its top quality (Not to say that ours are not! But our production cycles are much shorter) They keep going back and forth and have an exact product to produce and replicate, that makes it more of a challenge.

No offense but what are they supposed to do? Send an e-mail weekly saying

"not ready yet"

"Need more approval"

"almost there."

"Not quite ready.."

Or rush it out and get nothing but complaint emails? You guys rushed it, you should have done it right. I expect better from you guys.

Sheesh...

Non-taken, I think we all agree and we are all a special kind of collectors, we are all patient and collected and we want perfection. For me I dont care if it takes 5 yrs! I dont mind it at all but...

Just one personal email a year would be fine. One a year, thats all I ask.

I have been buying Efx from the very start and they used to have a gal who responded ASAP, I got used to it and then she was gone.
I see them at SDCC every year so I am fine. However when Im trying to send them money and I dont get a response, I come here and vent :peace

It would have been a courtesy for them to send a email out as the expected release date ie december was approaching. Could have simply said hey guys, we know this is due but in order to bring u a better product we are delaying the release til june etc....

They could also update their site with these things if they cannot send emails to everyone. But good communication is the key in a business. Not everyone visits the forums to see if there is anything new with the pre-order they made and paid for a year or more ago.

I decided to cancle my pre order. Its taking to long to i put my deposit towards palpatine pf. Mabey all change my mind when this thing arrives.

Good comments. For my 2 cents, what I expect from a company (EFX or otherwise) is:

1. To get a response when I contact them.

2. As shocktrooper_au said, get some sort of notification via email or on their site, once an important date or deadline has past, indicating they're still working on the product, and if possible a new date/deadline for which we'll have the product or at least the next update.

I understand dates can be moved. I'm fine with extended time frames over and over and over again if it means a better product. Nobody is asking to have this thing in hand right now. Just a damn sentence from EFX saying they know it's late, and it's for good reason. Gino jumped in and did it for them, and I thank him.

Even if it takes 10 years for this thing to release, for one reason or another, you'll be kicking yourself for cancelling. :wave

The scary thing here gents, is simple economics.

eFX is such a small company, and with the overall delays, something's got to give. There is more money going out than coming in. Every product delay is costing them. On top of the delays they have standard outgoings, etc.

If you sit down and do the math - even with all our deposits... things aren't looking great.

Add to that, their convoluted customer service style, and here is why I have been so vocal about the way they run their business.

All I can say is, they must have one hell of an investor/backer behind them, because from first hand experience, my backers would lynch me if this was how my company conducted itself.
