Looks like these won't be individually numbered? Serial Number 001 to me, says that it's the first piece, and every one of them will have a plaque just like that.

But I'm glad I got in on it.

Cool. He's in China though, so we have a little while to wait.

That was the first I'd heard about the other base too - that looks kind of cool. Looks like the top unscrews. It might be cool to put a transparent plexi cover on the big base and put a photo of the deathstar detail under the plexi.

What do you mean, I missed that part?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. fyi for those who were wondering:

from Bryan of eFX:

OK, I have been reading all of your comments and assumptions in regards to the acrylic cover and I think it is now time to address this issue.

As most of you have already determined, it is about the economics of it. The cost to produce in Asia has increased significantly, especially in the last year. This includes everything from raw materials and labor to transportation. Also, we only use factories that conform to China's new Code of Conduct (C.O.C.) which oversees human rights, wages, hours, etc.

So, we had to make the difficult decision to either increase the price of the product accordingly or revise the product to try to hold the purchase price. Obviously, it was not an option to reduce the quality or materials of the actual prop.

After much consideration (and debate), we concluded that the best option was to remove the acrylic cover. We felt that this is a component that can fairly easily be sourced locally by the consumers. There are even people on Rebelscum and the RPF that can supply these. The base is designed to accommodate a cover just like MR, so it would be an easy add-on. Also, it can be easily purchased later in case cost was an issue when you purchased the original prop.

We have looked into supplying a cover to be purchased separately, but the costing did not make sense, since you can make it for about the same price here. It is important to understand that the savings in manufacturing overseas is for most part in the labor content. The cost of raw materials, especially metal and plastic, is consistent worldwide.

As for the X-wing, we decided to make a full/base cover available separately since we understand this would be very difficult for the consumer to design and source.

I know that many will continue to debate this, but I think it is important that you understand our position.

Thanks for your understanding!

Bryan

yeah those guys are looking for perfection, but most of us want an X-wing that looks like an X-wing and looks like it cost what it actually cost. i'm waiting for more in-hand pics before I pass judgement.

I'm anxious to get this, I'm glad I'm not so picky that all the joy is sucked out of everything.
