That's a horrible picture of the 1:1 to use as a comparison, and is not flattering at all. Find one of DarthMaul's pictures to use as lighting is much better. The 1:1 looks much better in person.

Those latter pics of the 1:1 are much better than that first one. And the WIP PF pics looks pretty good to me. That one that is just the sculpt scream Ian McDiarmid (to me at least) although he does look more PT pre-deformity palpatine than ROTJ Palps.

I think that's what they were going for, but it doesn't say it anywhere. The bust still looks great IMO.

The first reason for which I passed on the Palpatine 1:1 bust is that, for me at least, he looked more like PT Sidious than ROTJ Palpatine. The second reason was the opened-mouth-angry-face pose. I would have liked to have a Palpatine bust like SimmonM's with closed mouth.

Anyway I'm really curious seeing some pics of this PF!

Not only did the speederbike sequences rock as a kid, this PF itself is a collection centerpiece. Until you've seen it in hand, it's hard to describe the impressive nature of the piece, both from a detail and size perspective. As pumped as I am for the Emperor, I'm not sure it will have the overall visual "umph" that the speederbike does. IMHO.

When I was at C4 the impact that piece had on me in person was so much greater than the photos. It's an extremely impressive piece and there's nothing as amazing in comparison to the other Speeder Bike stuff out there.

As much as the Emperor is a more "important" role in the story, there's so many Emperor items out there. That could be why I'm not as blown away over this coming sale.

But then again since 1983 I've always wanted to have a real Speeder Bike and have always had a love for the Biker Scout design. It's certainly my favorite piece of the Star Wars statues out there. My next favorite is my 1:1 Salacious Crumb. SOOOOOO cool!

And those who will be turned off to the piece because of higher edition sizes then you probably shouldn't buy it. I wouldn't care if the Speeder Bike had 10,000 pieces, I wanted that PF and I got it. What's a number got to do with how awesome it is in your collection?
