Yes, the possessions we own one day wind up owning us.
That is sadly true for many SW collectors. Some people have lost family, friends, marriages, jobs, homes and gone into huge debt and had to file bankruptcy over this stuff. It's crazy. :(

Just collect what you TRULY like and you're cool. The problem is, too many people don't know when to stop (or can't). The licensees know this and thus they exploit it (none worse than Hasbro and Gentle Giant).

I should have listened to my dad. He always told me there are NO such things as limited runs or editions with a company like Hasbro. Case in point, Han with Taun Taun, I paid $150 for that "limited edition". Then one day I stroll into Toys r Us, and there sitting on the shelves were about 200 of them. A week later, they were STILL there!

Ouch!..... I sold an almost complete 3 3/4" collection with , ships, extras, whatever, Exclusives, variations for $1000. FAR less than what I paid for them, but as stated earlier, they had taken over and become Clutter. I was actually relieved to see them go.

I can't wait to get the bundle!!!

:maul

Been looking forward to these for a while now.

I thought though they were going to share a Exclusive box or something - besides the shipping carton :rotfl - and be packaged differently than people who ordered the single ones?

Cancelled a few weeks ago. Just no interest in these characters when I could have a kick ass Marvel maquette for the same price.

I did the same here and I agree 150%.

I sold a MIB Han & Taun Taun for $15.

Same here. I'm still trying to sell off the rest of my Hasbro clutter.

It is nice to break out of that completist habit. Believe me, you do feel free.

I WANT to sell off most of my 3 3/4 but I just can't bring myself to it. All I would really keep are the most acurate vehicles/well scupted figures... basically anything from the Vintage line and those regular figures that fit the Vintage critera (good sculpt, SA or near SA and in the 77-85 vintage line). Already selling off the PT Sideshow figures is freeing, if only someone would buy them from me. :lol

A few years ago when I got fed up with all the variations on Luke and Vader I bought a table at a flea market and put out all the toys I no longer wanted. After selling all the Toybiz Marvel stuff and DC figures all I jad left was the Star Wars figures. I was so mad as I really wanted to get rid of them. Now they just sit in a box at the back of my closet.

I had the same experience, Ebay failed me, garage sales, flea markets. I shopped around all the comic/toy shops in the area and found a guy willing to buy some of the better ones, I told him he had to buy them all or nothing. I sold them. Keep trying, some one will buy them!

I just cancelled Mr. Saint and gang.

Guess that brakes my completist streak.

:chew

Im still very much on the fence with these. Though they might look cool displayed with Han wearing the camo coat, screen accurate or not.

With Yoda coming this week, I just didn't have the money for these, so I cancelled last night. In an amusing little bit of irony, I got an e-mail this morning from Sideshow telling me that my Yoda won't actually be shipping until May.

I'm sure you'll get through on the wait list though! :D

Well, sadly, I just canceled my Troopers. *sigh* If anyone is getting these and contemplating cancelation... would you be willing to hold onto them and I'd buy them off you once a few transactions go through? ... Anyone?

Well this has become a very depressing thread.
No it's not. It's a brilliant thread. Sideshow tried it on by releasing this Endor ****e, and as collectors we have told them where to stick them.

Had they had put in some effort and made imperial troops or descent rebel troops, then they may have had a winner, but to release this crap this early in the line, Sideshow have got exactly what they deserved. My advise is wait until they give them away. That's the only way the will shift them. I just hope they don't try this kind of rubbish again.

Well done to everyone who cancelled.:D

How about Sideshow. Their warehouse will have these in their collection for years to come!

You do know that the opinions of a few silly Star Wars fans on this message board don't dictate what Sideshow decides to make. Just because you want some Stormtroopers instead doesn't mean that no one wants Endor troops and they should've never made them. I'm sure there's plenty of collectors on OSW that are more then happy Sideshow made these guys. They approached the Military of Star Wars line in the tradition of the usual Military 1:6 figures that have been the foundation of this hobby.
