EB made a bad move calling this a Robocop 3 figure.
It would have been smarter to call it a Robocop trilogy figure ;)
That wouldn't be cost effective. By calling it a "Robocop Trilogy" figure means paying for the license of 3 movies where now they can just buy the Robo3 license and sneak in a mouth piece that is arguable of resembling Peter Weller or Burke

If you look at Enterbay's testing video, the voice is clearly Peter Weller. Unless they changed it back to Burke's dialogues in Robo3.

The armor uses a special painting technique so it will have different shading depending on the light.

Btw, I found the quote on facebook regarding the faceplates:

Laurent Guts: There is something i don't understand, why 2 faceplate with closed mouth? The left one is Weller and the right is Burke?
ENTERBAY: Well spotted, but they are of completely different facial expression.

This may be a misunderstanding? Enterbay never acknowledge that the face plates are based on two actors but rather the two similar style closed mouth face plates are in fact two different facial expressions.

On the Chinese official statement. It's confirmed that the sculptor is SCUDURIA again, in case anyone is wondering. What's interesting is that they also mention a special gift... which I knew of because when they first post the box image there was also a small white box with ENTERBAY printed on it.
And I have to say Enterbay are sneaky, even when they post this picture the covered the right corner so that you can see most of the ROBOCOP logo but not the end where it probably has a 3.

Holymurphysghost !! That is pretty obvious in hindsight why the cardboard is covering the right corner. That's hilarious !

You mean: An expression, right?

So, gay=lame/dumb.

Got it.

Well, not to defend what you perceive as boorishness, but in the generation before mine, gay meant happy and exuberant/boisterous.

The language evolves. It will evolve in the next generation.

Why are there two similar facial expressions? Cause those punks at HT stole the Weller rights.

The most left mouthpiece looks spot-on Weller to me.

The lighting thing on the armor does not bother me much, because depending on pictures are taken or how your display is lighted it may be impossible to recreate the same patterns seen in R1. In fact when I was researching paint to use for Robocop I came across someone pointing out that actually the armor has very strong greenish tint under normal light but has that purplish sheen only under studio lighting. I'm sure everyone would be pissed if they get a very accurate armor that will look spot-on under studio lighting but looks green in their detolf :)

Here it is from the Robocop archive:

"The RoboCop suits are more green than anything when seen in real life - they're painted with a special photoreactive paint that registers metallic on film."

Tired of all the hating..

Yes because it's Weller's mouth. EB confirmed it but can't promote it, as said someone here.
I'm fine with the color of the armour, i'm sure it will vary a lot depending on the lights.

If you hate it, don't get it. Personally i think i'll get this after all + the dio Robocop/ED 209 from Hot Toys

Well open your eyes or buy a dog

I agree. Can't see anywhere that it mentions wellers likeness. Says 2 likenesses. Guessing they mean the mouth parts and helmet as 1 and the actual headsculpt as 2. Its def Weller though.

Rob Robinson: Actually you are right! Well spotted.

ENTERBAY Well spotted, but they are of completely different facial expression.

As you can see they confirm the Weller likeness but they can not explicitly say it.

Left closed mouth IS Weller. Peter Weller has a bigger lower lip than Burke. Also, the space between the helmet and the upper lip is shorter.

Some people are assuming that Enterbay does not have the rights to produce Peter Weller's likeness because Hot Toys blocked it. Well I went to the sources: HT's RoboCop release text and could find no mention to Weller anywhere.

NO mention to Weller, just RoboCop. With legal, copyrights and likeness you don't assume, you have it or not. If, I mean IF, Weller has rights over his likeness its clear they don't have it, as i's never mentioned. They have the rights to reproduce the character "RoboCop" no Weller the actor. It may sound weird to some, PE Universal Studios owns the right to the Dracula character, but not Bela Lugosi's likeness, that is why their licensed figures do not ressemble the hungarian actor.

So let's put it clear and simple: EB produced a RoboCop 3 figure, no official Weller likeness, but a Burke one. The mouthpiece may resemble Weller's or not (I guess you don't need likeness rights for a mouth, but this is a RObo 3 release.

Armored, I didn't have the chance to see the · head pic in my computer before (big screen), I have been checking all on my iphone.

The first mouthpiece has definitely a ressemblance to Weller's lips, thickers than Burke's one. Happy to see that, still sad and upset they used Robo3 paint scheme, I wanted the character from the first movie, not the third one. You may agree with me EB have been VERY misleading and created high expectations on the Robo 1 fan crowd.

It's simple, HT didn't mention it because their Robocop don't have unmasked head.

And the left mouthpiece is Weller, it's a fact. Now if you don't like, don't get it, that's simple :wink1:

Perfect now, no?

Ok! I really do like the remote control features. That's a bit pimp in fairness.

I am not sure what the confusion over the third face plate. That's your Weller shooting his gun and slightly grimicing there. I would've like a full teeth gremice for that one instead. I can't imagine anyone will choose to display him with this face plate so it's bit of a waste in my opinion.

I am now eagerly awaiting a purchase button on the Enterbay site. Yeah Timescent gets stuff in but I ain't paying over the odd for it.

Tell ya what, go say that to one of the bigger gay lads and see what happens. ;)

The language you use is just not cool let alone toy forum of all places so telling someone to chill is bit hypocritical when the words you used are everything but chill. And its a collectible forum. If you think ppl in here are little children or grown men with child-like innocence then you need to be in some random Bronie forum.

Anyway, when can we but this thing?

FYI i have homosexual friends. They're not tight ***** (theyd love that one) about the word gay. Its not being hypocritical if the intention to offend is not there. Some ppl are just sensitive

His whole post is pretty extreme for a toy board wouldn't you say?! But yes, I get what you are saying about fueling the fire.

I have my fingers crossed about the QC on this one. So far I have dodged that bullet with my Enterbays.

I said shvt and gay oh my god call the police
