Sorry guys, where's EB quote saying they were doing Weller's faceplate? If you look at R3 pictures of Robo with the helmet on, it is very simmilar to Weller. Plus in their release text there's no mention of Weller anywhere.

The armor is R3, no doubt at all. No blue red and yellow reflections as in RoboCop 1. Black part, particullary the chin cover and gloves is glossy as in R3.

This is a Robocop 3 figure (its clearly stated in the announcement and the box) not a mix from all movies. If you like it, I'm really happy for you.

I was led by EB to believe it was RoboCop from movie 1. They NEVER mentioned the 3 while on development. So now this, for me the worst movie of the series, and the ugliest of paint schemes. Surely they did a fine job with Robo3, but I just can't care less, I wanted a RoboCop from movie 1, not getting it, not buying it:

HT is making one. Get it.

You make it sound as if you put down an NRD for this thing.

I can understand the frustration as it was initially announced as a Robocop figure as seen below, not Robocop 3. My guess is Weller already gave Hot Toys the go ahead with his likeness, leaving Enterbay to take the less desirable route. Or maybe their Robocop 1 licence expired over the delay? -

That said, the figure looks great and I may still bite

Exactly, that's what people are understandably thinking about. And that picture is ancient. I think it pre-dates Hot Toys announcing their new figures. That's why I'm not so sure if its the case that Hot Toys had the rights to Robo 1 and 2, leaving Enterbay stuck with 3.

Read the comment on enterbay facebook page, where they posted the 3 head pic. Also HT robocop has glossy gloves too and it's from robocop 1 so your point is invalid

It's a strange outcome whatever the measure! Do you think you'll still pull the trigger on this a-dev? I'm seriously considering it regardless!

Like I said, more power to you then.

Maybe they can make a 1/4 "Batman & Robin" batsuit but with a couple of Keaton mouthpieces to go with it. As long as the mouth looks good that's all that matters right? ;)

Who s**t in your cereal? :lol

"#ENTERBAY #RoboCop comes with 2 incredible authentic and highly detailed likeness head sculpture. The first Helmet Head Sculpt can pair with 3 interchangeable facial expression. "

I'm sorry but I can't find Weller in the sentence.

Also, when talking about a color scheme, I use as a reference stills from the movie, not some other toy maker figure, that may have its own innacuracies. It's hard to obtain clear pictures as RoboCop was filmed in low light conditions, but here it can be seen that black parts are satin black, not ultra glossy black.

That glove thing is true. The HT Robo isn't 100% Robocop 1 that's for sure. Just look at the rubber-joints (elbow and knee areas). The pattern is from R2 and R3.

Well, this makes my decision easy
I am still excited to see some reviews and pics though

All these years later and Robo still looks badass. Timeless design.

The title should be changed to RoboCop 3!
I've seen some comments on facebook and it's mixed.
Some people like it but a lot weren't fans of part 3 at all and think it's a waste.

I'm afraid that even if they are doing a fan service to sculpt the helmet face to resemble Peter Weller they can't legally promote that.

Just saw the reveal on Facebook and the first thing I thought was people are going to lose their **** over it suddenly being R3.

Now I wonder if the teaser of Hot Toys battle damaged Robocop could be Burke either:)? We all know that Weller doesn't give his likeness but we hope when we saw both Enterbay and Hot Toys's teasers...

God it would be funny if Hot Toy's helmetless version turned out to be Burke as well.

I wonder if the base plaque will read Robocop or Robocop 3... can't really tell from the pic. Would consider that just to be an added turn off :lol

yeah i'm with you on this one bro. i'm positive they had to do robo3 cause ht prob bought the rights to robo1 and robo2 so they prob had no other choice. like i said, beautiful figure and you can tell they really put their "A" game to make this

I'm thinking it's not about the rights for the movie but probably because Hot Toys signed an exclusive right with Peter Weller that prevents Enterbay from using his likeliness. Movie rights shouldn't have any conflicts when HT is doing 1:6 and EB doing 1:4.
Still, it's Bill's to tendency to hide any possible flaws that hurts Enterbay's PR. He only posts good news. If there is even a slight hint of negativity he would be dead silence until there's news about another product.

I'm assuming they will be using Burke's voice for this figure...thus removing any semblance to our beloved Peter Weller Robocop :monkey2

If you look at Enterbay's testing video, the voice is clearly Peter Weller. Unless they changed it back to Burke's dialogues in Robo3.

The armor uses a special painting technique so it will have different shading depending on the light.

Btw, I found the quote on facebook regarding the faceplates:

Laurent Guts: There is something i don't understand, why 2 faceplate with closed mouth? The left one is Weller and the right is Burke?
ENTERBAY: Well spotted, but they are of completely different facial expression.

This may be a misunderstanding? Enterbay never acknowledge that the face plates are based on two actors but rather the two similar style closed mouth face plates are in fact two different facial expressions.

On the Chinese official statement. It's confirmed that the sculptor is SCUDURIA again, in case anyone is wondering. What's interesting is that they also mention a special gift... which I knew of because when they first post the box image there was also a small white box with ENTERBAY printed on it.
And I have to say Enterbay are sneaky, even when they post this picture the covered the right corner so that you can see most of the ROBOCOP logo but not the end where it probably has a 3.

Well it seems it depends on the light, because i see purple here.

The most left mouthpiece looks spot-on Weller to me.

The lighting thing on the armor does not bother me much, because depending on pictures are taken or how your display is lighted it may be impossible to recreate the same patterns seen in R1. In fact when I was researching paint to use for Robocop I came across someone pointing out that actually the armor has very strong greenish tint under normal light but has that purplish sheen only under studio lighting. I'm sure everyone would be pissed if they get a very accurate armor that will look spot-on under studio lighting but looks green in their detolf :)

Here it is from the Robocop archive:

"The RoboCop suits are more green than anything when seen in real life - they're painted with a special photoreactive paint that registers metallic on film."

Tired of all the hating..
