Regarding all the custom painting going on, it appears some people are going over board on these sculpts in terms of all the bruising and blood. What do you think Gung Fu?

To tell you the truth Y4NK33, I really do not know much about custom repainting so I cannot give you a good answer to that - and sometimes a custom paint may look much better in-hand...

Some wants to do an exact copy of how Bruce looked in the movie after beating Kareem - and for instance the original painted blood stain (jam spot ? Hehe...) on Bruce's lip has been debated and criticised for not looking realistic - thought it seems to be the same as in the movie... Some have repainted because of rub nose, and too light original sculpt paint... Some professional, some first-timers and some maybe long-time-figure-sculpt-repainter-but-do-not-know-what-the-hell-they-are-doing..... Hehehe..

So far I have not seen a very bad example yet, but the there might be a collector repainted bruised head sculpt that I think seemed did not look so good - in pictures at least. I do not know if you remember those photos but it was the very first repaint photo of this figure which I posted here after finding it on a Chinese figure forum. Bruce look really sick (some went as far as saying he got AIDS, etc). But was this because of bad photography or other reasons it would not come out so good in picture ?.... Actually, come to think about it - the first hand pictures really looked bad - even without any repaint issues... Hehehe...

Is there any repainted figure sculpt in particular you want to address ?

I wouldn't mind the opposite. Take all the BD off (starting with the jelly/jam). It would be cool to have a serious BL face that isn't beat up

That make a lot of sense & yes I remember the AIDS custom photo's hehe. I'll dig the pic up I'm thinking of momentarily.

These 2 were the pics I was referring to Gung Fu. His photography is top notch, but in my opinion the battle damage too excessive unless he was trying to recreate a specific moment from the film that I'm not remembering. ​

I actually agree Yankee.
Just for the record, I never increased any of the bruising on my BD head.
Not one bit, that is all as it was when i received it. I actually like the look of it with lighter marks. Some lighting set-ups make it seem darker than it is.
I did slightly even out the blood on the lip as it was a funny shape! I don't like the "zombie" and "aids" heads going around, but I guess everyone likes something different!

I might try a totally clean one next time.

I was just reading all the comments from the first few pages. They are quite amusing in retrospect

I have the figure for a few days now. There are some things i like and some things i dislike about this figure. But, the things i like... i really like

Hey Rory, yes I know you stayed very true to the film and I think everyone agrees your customization is simply gorgeous.
I'd love to see a totally clean BD sculpt from this set if you can do that!

Alright guys so there are so many posts in this topic that I can't really find the concrete information I am looking for. I am still interested in maybe getting this figure down the road (definitely no time soon though) on the after market, but I want to know details.

I hear people mention the quality control problems and such, but what were the overall strengths and weaknesses of this set? What did it do right? What went wrong since promotional? How is the body? How is the face and articulation etc...How did this figure turn out?

Hey everyone, reporting back.

Went to their store, to get he RM-X, and to double confirm what i heard over the phone regarding the HK Expo Edition.

Opps... my wrong, sorry guys, the BD sculpt is gonna be the same one everyone is getting. Sorry to get some of you hyped up. Maybe it was what i wanted to hear, so i got it wrong.

However, they said the eyes for smiling head will be painted slightly differently. I asked them how, but she dosen't have finalized pictures and she is not 100% sure. I am guessing they are probably looking upwards like the scene it was taken from.

Apart from that, no jeans, no t-shirt. She said the chair will have different words, um... and it will come with that camera stand.
