I can imagine EB releasing a figure officially called something like "JCVD Martial Arts Superstar", to avoid paying for movie licenses, & dress the figure in Bloodsport or Kickboxer attire anyway.

I want his most iconic look. Guile.

Re: Enterbay - Jean Claude Van Damme figure POLL!

OK, it is confirmed: the figure is not a movie character! It is a Jean-Claude Van Damme figure.

Now, the question is: - would you like to have it as a Hollywood casual look figure or with both casual and martial arts gear accessory?

Well... for the latest 1/4 Bruce Lee releases, EB labels him Bruce Lee. Not Way of the Dragon nor Enter the Dragon. Just plain old Bruce Lee 1/4.

So... just because its not under a specific licence, i dont think it means it won't have a look of a certain movie. It could be a Mullet Van Damme, with blue shirt and jeans, and that could still be considered "casual".

I think it comes down to which Van Damme era it goes down to. Whether the short hair cut, the mullet, or the spiked hair. Thats what i would actually want to vote on. But Casual and Martial Arts Gear seems to be the more sensable choice.

No one has yet heard Enterbay's reason for doing that. Did they suddenly lose the movie rights in that case?

When someone here enquired Enterbay's answer was that it had nothing to do with Way of the Dragon and was 'standard kung fu' Bruce Lee :D

It might be a little more dangerous trying that on the bigger American film companies that own Van Damme's films and are much more aggressive over their properties.

That was me who enquired :D

I'm guessing EB thought they didn't need to purchase/repurchase the WotD license. Saving money where they can. I'm guessing the JCVD figure/statue will be pretty much the same.

I hope it's not just a casual look

It is a casual look! It is confirmed. I am the one who put EB in contact with JCVD and I am following up with them.

I first wanted a casual / martial arts JCVD figure, and JC also wanted this, but now, EB says they will do the casual look first then the MA. I just hope they will follow the Hollywood style I showed 'em in some images and stay away from the Vilain (The Expendables 2) wannabe figure!

I talked firmly to one of the EB team yesterday on phone asking them to work faster and stick to what we agreed on regarding the figure's look.
The JCVD fans are starting to complain and I do not blame them!

I am very excited about this. I would luv luv a JCVD figure (as a younger guy, not older guy from expendables). Mullet or not.
