Thats a lot of money to upgrade figures. I really can't justify it personally. I guess if I had 1 absolute favorite figure to do it, then maybe, but to do that for a lot of figures is just cost prohibitive for me.

I'd rather have 5 pretty good figures with average body than 3 with upgraded bodies. I'll admire vicariously through others that do switch, but its not a priority by any means and I always figure the people that do upgrade must have money burning a whole in their pocket.

With a figure like this I don't see the point of upgrading it to a TT. Just seems like spending money that can be put towards another figure honestly. If you did what Pix/Sean did and used a CW Obi-Wan head that makes sense. For me though this headsculpt and buck body was fantastic enough.

Just got mine today. I don't know if I'm in a funk or what, but I was a bit underwhelmed by him. :( Or maybe it's just that I've become completely absorbed by the dioramas.

Looking at your pictures Monk, your beard looks more like mine and the other lesser painted ones, very hard edge where the beard meets the skin.

I do love the Jedi robe on this one, haven't done a comparison, but seems like less material on it, one issue I found with some of the early ones, seemed like a boat load of cloth around the body. I just wish the hoods were larger.

You're exactly right, Sean. Doing a side-by-side comparison with the General Kenobi head is very telling. There wasn't nearly the same level of effort going into this one as there was the previous incarnation.

As for the robe, I'd call that a winner. It's definitely a lighter material, more malleable. I was really pleased with what I was able to do with it in that first picture.

Still, after this release, I'm one step closer to re-evaluating the 12" line. At the very least, I'm going to start being more selective. Right after I see how Piett turns out. :rock

Which reminds me ... aren't we about due for another Star Wars 12" announcement. Or am I crazy? Or both?

I think we're going to have a dry spell for now, maybe one more "less exciting" figure announced before Comic-Con, they're saving the big guns at this point for that.

I'm in a funk with 12" figures right now, but my funk is correlated with the inflated prices. Its just impossible to get $70-$100 satisfaction when you're used to getting it for $50-60 (and feel thats what prices should still be).

I say 30-90 on truetypes, for the folowing reason. the price is all over theplace, once you factor in how they get parted out on the bay, getting the ands and wristpegs for an additional 20$, plus the feet for another 156, and the body by itself for anywhere from 30-50, PLUS shipping, you start getting in the near 90$ range.

i Really Really hope hot toys does a better job of keeping these on the market now.

Well they should be announcing the SDCC exclusive in the next few weeks.

Yeah, probably in I'd say 2-3 more weeks.

I disagree. I have no problems being happy with my purchases. Take this figure I think mine looks great and I'm very happy with it. I've got the Mark 3 coming on Thursday and based on shots of the production piece I know I'll be happy with it. U really need to give up the pipe dream of figures being that price cause it ain't gonna happen anymore from anyone.

Nice shots Monk. Your beard does seem to be less blended than mine does.

Do they really get announced that far ahead? I know, I know, this'll be my 3rd SDCC since following Sideshow, but I just don't remember when they get previewed, only what ones they are.

That might explain my issue as well. :nod A $70 price tag is understandable, I suppose, given the rise in shipping costs and such. But still.
