There should be a point, if they were making something quality. Ya know?

Not from the studio, but the filmmakers. Why would they want to throw out another Evil Dead movie? To be scary? Perhaps? The best thing I can come up with is to push the boundaries of practical effects, which I appreciate. But eh.

I'm pretty conflicted with this movie.

I hate the movie only because we never got to see Freddy Vs Jason vs Ash. I know I might be the only person that feels this way but I really wanted to see Ash kick their butts. Sadly it will never happen.

but what I hate about it is that they would rather make this stupid remake than go with that movie.

Evil Dead remake or Ash vs. Freddy vs. Jason. That's a fair comparison. Like the studio was sitting around saying, "Well we want to make an Evil Dead remake or Ash vs. Jason vs. Freddy, but we don't have the money to make both."

Who's to say the A vs. J vs. F movie would be any good anyway. Have you seen the AVP movies? Did you see Freddy vs. Jason? Those were both big fanboy wet dreams until they were actually brought to screen.

Freddy Vs. Jason was terrible. But awesome. It was exactly what a movie would be when those two were put together.

FVJ is one of my favorite movies because we saw something amazing, Freddy fight Jason.
as far as people goes, FVJ made money, and there are a lot of fans of FVJ.

Add Ash to that pile and I think the movie could have made some serious cash.

AVP cannot be compared because it was PG 13. That killed the movie. Also Paul Anderson is a hack. But FVJ at least was worked over the years. It was a project that was supposed to happen since the 90s. it was not a hack job. Whether you like it or not the movie was planned. I don't think it was the same case with AVP. Felt like the studio just wanted to cash in.

Anyways, I think Freddy Vs Jason vs Ash could have been a lot of fun.I mean think about it, Bruce fighting Freddy, the one liners alone would have made it worth it.

I could have made a better Freddy vs. Jason using Movie Maniacs figures.

I think the movie was pretty good.
People criticize the acting but I ask those people, what Nightmare or Friday movie had good acting?

people criticize the plot but, again, what Friday or nightmare movie had an amazing plot (besides the first nightmare on Elm street)

the movie made its money back and it was a mild success. I think the sequel would have been pretty awesome to watch.

Besides this movie doesn't look that good anyway.

I don't understand those thinking this is a cash grab by Raimi. Besides Spiderman, he hasn't exactly been known to be involved with blockbusters. I'm more concerned that Diablo Cody was involved in writing the script.

Just because he hasn't been making blockbusters doesn't mean he doesn't want to. I'm sure the crummy horror films he's produced have made him more than they've lost him.

And don't get me wrong, I'm guessing that Raimi does want to make artistically satisfying work. But I don't think that is always his concern, and with this film, I'm not sure that it plays a significant role at all.

I'm not a mega fan but I love Evil Dead 2 , really like Army of Darkness and haven't really got much of an opinion of the first movie , only watched it once or twice.

I'm one of the few people who seems to be able to enjoy horror from all era's equally and this looks quite good to me. :dunno
