You guys hold movies in a high regard around here cant expect everything to be a masterpiece .

Of course not, masterpieces are very very rare.

But I'm not just going to go all "10/10 OMG!!!111" just because of the name or hype.

the demon deadite did act like Reagan from the exorcist...movie was alright, special effects were good and gory

the end credits was a waste of time...Seriously
it better be a hint of Army of Darkness 2

Damn, that's some serious praise EF. Guess I'll have to see it after all.

:rotfl Ill be going to see it tonight with the GF. I'm not expecting it to have the charm the first one, but I haven't seen a good gory horror film in a long time.

Saw this last night. I enjoyed it. Great gore, decent acting. As far as remakes go, this one is pretty good (still prefer the original). I agree that the Deadites acted more like Reagan from the Exorcist though.

Is the infamous tree scene handled tactfully or should I prepare to be uncomfortable?

I thought the tree scene was done well. It was sick enough to make you go ohh damn but not so much so that it will make you uncomfortable I think.

I still never will understand the mad respect the first film gets. It's a horrible movie. :monkey4

I won't be able to see this until Sunday. Looking forward to it. Remakes don't bother me as long as they are good. Like many I am a big fan of the original. Part 1 is my fav. because it's the most straight forward horror movie of the three. I love part 2 for the comedy also but part one just has that great low budget horror movie feel. AOD has always been the red headed step child.

Arrow in the Head review site like it a lot and I usually agree with him about 98% of the time.

I enjoyed this movie alot. So much fun! The sheer amount of gore really made me happy. You don't see modern horror films with this much blood in it. There were a few scenes that definitely made me cringe. We actually had quite a few people walk out after some of the scenes :lol

Going either tomorrow or Sunday, can't wait.

They definately have an unrated version, word is about 15%-25% of additional gore was cut out.

There is no such thing as too gory for me.

I remember laughing my *** off when Punisher War Zone had more gore than the F13 remake. :lol

Agreed! The gore in this reminded me of some foreign movies. I haven't seen an American film do this in a long time. People will say well Saw and Hostel were gory, but those are pretty tame on the actual amounts of blood you see. I can't wait to see the unrated version.
