that tree rape looks pretty FAIL to me. raimi pulled it off, this one looked meh.

trying to squeeze more torture porn feel in this one too.

that is what I can't stand....torture is not cool unless your sick in the head..

In the end,the movies are Bombs,but fun kinda bombs...though the 1st Evil Dead sucked and wasn't scary at all,which is why Evil Dead II is 10 times better

Some of you need to open your minds. It's ok to like both. It reminds me of some of the Lord of the Rings die hards who hated the movies because they deviated from the books.

In comparison with the originals, yes I would say this is a new fresh take on Evil Dead. I have faith in the Campbell/Cody partnership.

I am on the fence about this, some things should not be touched [see: the Alien franchise]. The trailer looks almost interesting, but I am not a gore for the sake of gore type person. I don't want them turning this into Hostel: Part 20 and I think that's what might end up happening.

Need more info before I can make a decision.

I'm in my mid 30's.

I don't like Raimi's style of horror. Exorcist, The Shining, Poltergeist, The Original Omen ect. are more my speed. I know that's not the "popular" opinion and won't be on a forum like this. Frankly I don't give a ****.

And yes Bruce is a straight up B movie actor that only fanboys would care about.

I was a bit skeptical about this one, but from the looks of it, should be a good take on the concept.
The original Evil Dead isn't as campy as it's sequels, it's actually pretty freaky and scary IMO...
I like what I see so far!

I always thought the original ED had a really creepy and disturbing premise, but the student film quality production values lessen the impact. This remake looks like it might deliver the creepiness the original intended to, but without rubber hoses sticking out of cheap, disinitegrating makeup.

As a fan OF evil dead 1 & 2, and somewhat a fan of Army of Darkness, I'll say that the footage has me interested. Of course, I am not expecting a Bruce Campbell starring type movie. I accept that this is ''all new & different'

Not really. It's the camp of Raimi's direction and goo fetish mixed with Campbell's acting. As I said earlier, it looks like someone has taken this and Rob Zombified it.

I'll watch it! Definitely going back to the serious roots (no pun) of the original. I just got to get over it won't be front loaded with Bruce. To me, he made those films.... Especially the goofy sequels.
