I hate to sound harsh on EXO-6, I really do. I mean I’ve bought or have pre-ordered every release they’ve done to date aside from the DISCO figures.

I’m just disappointed. It just really felt like today was going to be something. I felt like TMP Admiral Kirk was a sure thing today.

Not that you need my validation bud - but disapointment without venom is cool - and it's folks like YOU that help keep the company afloat (y)

Maybe as fans we let our excitement get the best of us and we build up our expectations too high? While the Picard trailer looks great and it’s nice having a release date, no date or trailer for S2 of SNW, no soundtrack for SNW, obviously no movie news. Add in no Exo-6 announcements or preorders today, and I’m kind of let down. DEFINITELY not excited for Playmates returning to the smaller Trek figures.

Sorry - none of that counts as "excitement" for me . . . as far as I'm concerned - they don't exist (each to their own though).

Nanjin more or less stated on his facebook that Locutus didn't go up today because he's waiting for the licensor to give him the green light.

Looks like you Australian folks have got a little problem here 🤦‍♂️

Yeah - let's hope the community & other retailers can find a way round that ridiculousness without having to resort to some members here acting as a go-between, and folks ending up paying double shipping costs as a result.

.

Ah I saw the email about Locutus not being able to ship to Aus. Are there any potential work arounds? I would settle for an unlit version. Seems unfair to miss out completely.

The email indicates they will try - "If we can make accommodation by the time it ships we may offer a modified version for the Australian market."

Other than that - some retailers may find ways to circumvent the stupidity, or others will have to step in - these could be re-labelled "action figures" on the shipping box to avoid curious customs/postal types. Heck - people have been finding ways of reducing customs charges for years - it's just another variation - frustrating - but there's always a way.

It never ceases to amaze me how idiots get voted or promoted into positions where they affect so many with their dumb decisions.

Maybe I don’t quite understand what a button cell battery is or how it is installed on the figure . I would presume at some point you would have to replace it anyway. So why not remove the battery and ship with compartment open + extend some future credit, and let the customer find his own way to purchase a “button cell battery” on his own ?
I mean I would presume there are some loyal Australian Nanjin/EXO-6 customers out there. Not right to just let them down.

The problem is that the law extends beyond the batteries themselves and also covers the battery compartment which has to meet certain criteria as well. It's really annoying right now. I had another figure from a different line with light up eyes, and the only option I was given to make it compliant was to remove the light up mechanism completely.

Ok, so over on Facebook it’s currently being discussed. It appears that the battery law applies to businesses and re sellers only, and that individual buyers technically shouldn’t be affected. Nanjin also mentioned that an Australian version of Locutus will be made…I guess however until it’s officially announced it’s all up in the air.

Couldn’t they just sell the figure and not include the battery? I know it wouldn’t have that function but at least people could still get the figure.

Unfortunately it's not just the batteries that are banned, but anything with a battery compartment that might contain those batteries in the future.

So hopefully it won't be too hard for Nanjin to pull all those out of the figure...
