But with the other companies it’s not so rapid fire though. I generally am not buying a Hot Toys figure every single month. Also that assumes that I’m strictly buying EXO-6 Star Trek releases.

I may be wrong, but didn't nanjin say essentially (not his words) not every Trek fan with be a fan of every Trek figure for sale. He said its like having 20 licenses. For instance, if you love TOS you may not love DS9, so your break will come when DS9 goes up for sale. At least, that's how I took it.

Like for me with Star Wars, I get a break when HT releases anything Sequel trilogy, Clone Wars or cartoon related or almost anything PT. I'm really only interested in OT, RO or Mando.

If you have a broad palate and love all things Trek, then you are in trouble.

Yup I was forced long, long ago to make hard decisions with Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc. The only line I currently have 100% of is Asmus’ Middle Earth figures. For Stat Trek it sounds like there might have to be the same kinds of hard decisions. The TOS, TNG and movie crews will be my priorities with some other special figures mixed in. I don’t think it’s a bad strategy. While it will leave some of us with regret if we are honest most of us don’t have the room (and probably the funds) to have every figure from every series. As long as the figures from the individual series are spread out it probably won’t feel as overwhelming.

Pike, Chapel seem like the glaring TOS absences from that list.

Now look, if we are talking villains, I'd like Gowron (stares in Klingon) for 3000 reasons, not least of which are the memes I could create with his figure. So, if you only produce 10, then this gal has dibs on one.

Trek is saturated. Like I said, can not be a hard choice except some amazing characters releases just happen to be close proximity with each other.

Forcing people to make choices isn't my idea. That's how 1/6 Trek can survive.

Look at what the Trek franchise is doing now. We are doing the same thing. This is the only way Trek can survive.

BTW, making people feel regret is an attitude of achieving excellence, is a confirmation of a good product, an attitude very common in Japanese artists. I just use it in Trek production.

I just need Balok so I can recreate this meme I use all the time...

Correctly stated.

It is a feeling that people might or might not have when a complete presentation of the line that they forgo is being materialized.

Anyway, watch and see how this unfold. The bottom line is 1/6 Trek will never be as bright as now before and ever after. I have no doubt about this.

Yeah ideally it would be nice if the releases were more spread out, but if this is the only way the line can be successful then so be it. And if it comes down to it, I have plenty of other figures I can part with that don't interest me nearly as much as characters from the Trek universe.

Too late Balok is now being made just for you. On the figure stand it is going to say “made for Wor-Gar”. Except it will use your real name otherwise it would just be strange.

I understand nanjin's five year mission and I'm beaming aboard for the journey. Some may find his charted path highly illogical but he is taking the path where no man has gone before. I say, "make it so", nanjin and may EXO-6 live long and prosper!

It makes sense to me (even though it is painful since I like more than one Trek). Imagine trying to keep TOS only fans (or any series fan) collecting the line if they only get one release a year. If you give them 3 or 4 a year you might be able to keep the momentum going for a few years. Hopefully there is a plan for variant or rereleases of the very main characters like Kirk and Spock every couple of years to bring on fans that at late to the party. I think even QMX showed that for at least those two there is enough interest to justify more than one release. Kind of like how Asmus has said they would like to eventually have Frodo continually in stock in their store.

There are friends who understand, and there are fans who just want what they want.

A lot of people wants me to start with Scotty and move on to Uhura. By this, I will be closing down this venture by about the 4th figure. Then 1/6 Trek damage would be permanent, ansdie out in 2 years permanently (all the major profit were made. New comers would not be interested)

What about keeping 1/6 Trek alive?

There are obligations that I need to fulfill with CBS. I have to make X amount of New Trek comparing to old ones. This means I must Market new trek and make room for them in production.

I am not going to dig a hole and let people put 1/6 Trek 6 feet under.

Nanjin is the captain of his ship, and he knows her well and how to command it. Those are my thoughts on the matter. As far as what Exo-6 makes and in what order they make them --- I am just enjoying the voyage, and I will be very happy to see what is offered. The best gifts are the unexpected ones.

Exactly. I'm not a huge Trekkie, so the only ones I'd be interested in would be Kirk & Spock. Khan if we're talking villains. And since I'm a heretic, I'd buy the Kelvin versions too (plus Bones because of Urban). Maybe something from TNG too, notably Picard. Maybe Riker and Data. And Q. But that's it.

I think it's important to put specific limits to everything, otherwise you end up going overboard. With Star Wars, that I prefer to Trek character-wise, there are more characters I'd be in for, but even then I try to limit myself to specific ones, notably the Force Wielders. With Marvel/DC I stick only to my favourites, and most of them aren't MCU characters yet, so I'm still in the clear. There are few lines that'd tempt me to go all in, and thus far there's no 1/6th representation of them. If I didn't have those limits, I'd be buying a new figure every week, and that's a recipe for disaster. Exceptions exist, yes, when something comes out completely out of left-field. But you have to adhere to some rules. If you love 10 things, you have to choose a bit of everything. If you collect only Batman then sure, go ahead and buy it all. But as it stands I can't realistically buy TDK BaleBat, BBBaleBat, ArkhamBat, three Batfflecks, BatKeaton and so on. Much as I might like someone/something, I'm sticking to one figure per character, unless it's one of my Top 10 or something and a particular costume/look is close to my heart. One avenue I've closed off entirely for example are the X-Men. I may have liked one or two characters and stories back in the day, but I don't care now, and if I start with one exception I'll get hit by the completionist bug. But if the F4 are well-casted, I'd see myself wanting to get them all. Green Lantern would be both a problem and a blessing. You get my point.

So, for the time being, I can breathe with this selection and I don't mind waiting for the more high profiles characters down the line. This hobby needs patience.

I've been buying everything with a Clone Wars and Mando tag from Hot Toys. I'll gladly sell some of those, and restrict my buying if it means I can get figures from all the Trek shows.

I guess I?ll try to buy most of the releases from TOS, TNG, and DS9 (along with figures from the TOS and TNG movies) and those will be my cut off. The only other series I wouldn?t mind maybe getting some figures from is ENT.

Maybe I would buy a TOS and/or TNG Bridge. And maybe complete the Crew(s) just to not have the Bridge(s) be empty. But that's it. Period. I'm very decisive with my buying, and general, habits. Very decisive.
