I am rethinking ordering direct from EXO-6. Between this and their awful customer service, I'd say it's more likely than not.

I have some deposits in with Timewalker Toys. I may just switch over to them completely.
Agreed. EXO has been solid shipping wise in the past but with this mess happening maybe the wise move is just wait

The only thing I ever ordered directly from EXO-6 was Lower Decks Wave 1, because of the "surprise gift," which was unsurprisingly a Cerritos communicator badge pin, and I also think at the time Mondo was the only other retailer carrying the set, and they wanted the entire amount of money up front. I got the set and had no issues, but I feel like I was lucky. Every 1/6th scale EXO-6 figure I've purchased has come from Sideshow. It took a little longer to get them, but I also knew I'd have less stress in the long run.

Not sure how tariffs will effect the price of figures, but getting them from another retailer isn't going to help, the tariffs will hit them all.
Well as I understand it, that only happens when the buyer and seller are in two different countries. Legally, I don't think it works any other way. Ask any UK or AUD buyer from the US for the last dozen-some years or so. Taxes yes, Tariffs no.

I have no idea how temporary or if it affects stuff, but the reddit for action figures seems to be concerned.

USPS reversed course about twelve hours later, so it was very temporary. Apparently, they're gonna work with Customs and Border Protection to implement some way to collect tariffs on inbound parcels. It's not clear how that's supposed to work, but one could assume it will be similar to the customs fees based on declared value that folks outside the U.S. pay when they receive international parcels.

Yep that's exactly how I was picturing it being done. The upside if there is one: At least now we'll have the chance to experience firsthand just how much international buyers pay before receiving a package and how much that has sucked for them. Until now we could only guess the suckocity of it.

Sure, but Sideshow just becomes the buyer from Exo-6 so they pay the tariffs, and have no choice but to pass them on to you or make less money, which they aren't likely to choose.

As long as they're not also asking you to pay their processing fees *cough*ZuckFacebook*cough it could be construed as a normal expenses price increase (far more legit than the crap hasbro pulls in a greedy haze)

Sadly just had to cancel my preorders for Saavik and Sulu. Job's looking iffy and I can't justify adding more figures to the collection. It's nothing compared to what some people are going through round the world, but still depressing AF.

Considering the state of afairs in the world, the apparent needless trade wars and stuff, I think a lot of people will be doing similar.

In the US, workers are getting cut left and right ,AI is affecting many workplace , and with prices rising everywhere, I really wondered if the collectors will at minimum pull back on these secondary characters or at least the “ non essential “ figures.

I already see even the custom market where in the past figures cost $1,500-$2,500 the sellers are having a tough time moving for 4-5 months. 2 years ago, the secondary and primary custom market would sell in weeks.

Think you will start seeing some of the secondary figures being sold for less than retail soon ? The ripping effect could affect EXO now more than ever. He better start giving everyone a daily hourly update on how fast X is selling over Y to drum up more sales and more fist pumping.

I do wonder what % of figures is EXO selling in the US?

I'm still fully onboard with the Trek figures, but feel ready to start cutting back on everything else now. I just don't feel nearly as much passion for the hobby as I used to.

Yea probably a good idea because if you ever need to sell for whatever reason you may not be able to even recover the retail price especially the secondary figures.

I never fell for the pitch from day 1 and only collect the “ essential “ characters

I just want the original series cast (main 7) and the main trio in monster maroons. I'm up for a gorn and some other villains but sadly we are years into Exo6 and none of my want list has been touched (I've had to scale back my initial want list due to space so am being very selective). EXO6 is doing a fine job on the figures and the volume they are releasing is impressive but I really hope they might get to the top draws soon and sprinkle them in.

Posts have been deleted. Political talk goes in the Dark Rooms.
That was not political talk. We were discussing potential financial impact of the figures we want to purchase given current economic conditions in a General Discussion Figure Thread. It was all relevant to the figures and our interaction with China based EXO-6. We really need to revisit the definition of what is reasonable to be covered in this Forum. I would think our experience as customers would be reasonable and valid.
