Explosion in Boston?

And yes skin color has a lot to do with it. They are looking for a man who was dark skinned who was trying to access secured areas, and here is a guy who was obviously in the area at the time of the explosions and has dark skin.
So this was actually said? I haven't read that anywhere.

And "dark skinned" doesn't strictly mean Saudi Arabian. Could easily apply to African Americans as well.

I'm not sure why the man who planned the whole thing would be close enough to be injured (and has been injured) though, unless it was a suicide mission. :dunno

Perhaps he was investigating why the charges weren't going off and was caught off guard?

Hiding from reality is just wrong in my opinion. This horrible attack is a part of US history now. Never forget.

I never said "hide" and "forget" about what happened. I just think it's disrespectful to take pics of the suffering victims, especially when they're recognizable.

Put yourself in their position. Would you want me taking pics of you dismembered on a sidewalk and putting them online on Facebook and twitter? How is that respectful?

9/11 hasn't been forgotten and I don't recall up close and personal images of dismembered victims, burned bodies or the aftermath of the jumpers. There was a respect at ground zero that week. There also wasn't social networks or smart phones.

You know...this tragady isn't the biggest of all time...but it some how seemed to represent almost everything that's wrong with America in one fatal swoop.

I'm shocked. But at the same time...i'm not.\

And I watched the news. Barely any mention on the good doers of this country. Maybe a tiny video interview in juxposion with the explosion and gore pics.....yeah because that works.

Just learned about this today through this site. I didn't watch tv yesterday.

I'm surprised about this too, only because it is hard not to be caught off guard, but doesn't surprise me one bit. Shootings and bombings are just part of our lives these days, we have to except it.

When stuff like this happens l never watch the news coverage for more then 10 minutes. All the news does is exploit the event and victims for ratings. they try and show the most gory pics/video, interview the most effected people to get the best sob story for ratings, and ask victims stupid questions like "so what are you going to do now", "How are you going to rebuild", "how is this going to change your life". I aint watching the news do what they do. They will never fool me with their agendas.

Patton Oswalt had something to say about the bombing today. It contrasts rather nicely, with the footage of people loooting stuff in the commotion.

Boston. ****ing horrible.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."

This guy helped the man with the injured and missing legs...

That's a great guy! :yess:

Were all the injured just at that one spot by the finish line? Or both areas?
I haven't watched the news today, and was curious if they have anyone if interest other than the Saudi kid? I did hear that "pressure cookers" were used. That seems like a homegrown terrorist to me.

Why would you guess homegrown? Yes it's beloved it was done with pressure cookers, where they fill on with ball bearing or similar items and explosive material, have the detonator on top. Being designed to hold great pressure the explosion will reach a higher pressure before launching the projectiles. These are comonly used in Middle East.

Very sad. I hope who did this will be caught and some things can be learned from this tragedy in order to prevent any more of this nonsense from happening again.

Won't happen :(

Agree with this

Then let the people who should record the truth, record it.

Not a bunch of aholes looking for infamy for posting this junk online. Time for the US to pass a bill punishing those that stand by and film this stuff if for no other reason than to help catch the culprits

I agree this is horrible but damn. We don't need anymore "laws". Censorship bothers me more than the *******s.

But is it censorship or just plain decency, if you dont want to help fine, but dont stand film and post on twitter while people suffer. A line has to be drawn somewhere no?

Its certainly decency but decency shouldnt be regulated by the governtment. That's a moral decision people have to make. This is a free country and the event happened in a public place. Again I don't agree with the lack of tact. However that is within their rights to do so. I don't have to like it or agree with it. To be honest I get more upset over the looters that thought it was a good idea to jump right in and start stealing. That I really don't understand. I don't understand how in all that carnage their brains think the best course of action is to start stealing. I really don't get that behavior.

:lecture

Yeah, and what gets me is that some of the victims families can actually get on these news channels and talk about their loved one being killed or hurt. I for one do not want to talk to anyone for a good while after my family members dies. If my son was killed and some reporter stuck a mic in my face, I'd try to take his ****ing head off.

And if I was called about coming onto a cable news show to talk about it, I would hang up on their ***.
