Oh cryptic one PLEASE elaborate!
But the problem is that all humans have a natural tendency to filter information through biased lenses. Be they religious, political, self-interest-based, emotional, etc. So 10 guys will be looking at the same thing with the same information and may represent it 4 or 5 completely different ways. It takes critical self-awareness to even begin to overcome this problem. "Objective reality" is not as easy a concept to ascertain as it seems like it should be. It's easy to fall into logical fallacies and wishful thinking scenarios once you've become accustomed to expecting the world to behave in a certain way.
I know what I see by the unconstitutional Bills that are constantly being brought up in Congress and the Senate. There is plenty of evidence that supports that our nation is becoming a Police State.
Let me ask you this, since you are military...if ordered to...Will you fire your weapons on US or Canadian citizens???
Wow my post got deleted????????????????? WTF is wrong with you MODS????
Isn't this a public forum for "discussion" ?
I believe the this section is " Sideshow Freaks > Non-Collectible discussion > Other topics > Explosion in Boston"
This is ridiculous , mods that take their power to their heads , so if they don't agree with what you say , they delete your post.

Very true.
It IS scary to think there are politicians - and yes, plenty of citizens - who seem happy to trade freedom for security, or make Sharia Law official, or create some kind of theocratic Christian state, or attempt to push whatever crazy agenda they have into law. But how many of those get passed?
And if somehow they are, if they are unconstitutional, there's still the Supreme Court, etc.
Democracy ain't perfect, but it's still the best we've got.
Assuming it's not a question of self-defense (and even there, there are very clear guidelines as to appropriate force), absolutely not.
We are LEGALLY obliged to NOT follow an illegal order. Not just ethically. This is every soldier, sailor and airman's responsibility.

that is one of the biggest problem...we ARE a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy.A Democracy is Mob Rule,Where 51% can take the rights of the 49%.No where in our constitution even mentions a Democracy. In a Republic 99% cannot take away the rights of the 1%...we have God given unalienable Rights and not to be taken away.
That's a negative. "Democracy" doesn't mean what teemu says about 95% of the time it's used. And it isn't used incorrectly, it just isn't used in the way he is saying that it should be (the ancient Greek version I guess). The closest we have to genuine democracies in the modern world are referenda, which we see with some variation across the world. Also, some countries rule by Parliamentary coalitions and not the "winner take all" system of the U.S. Considering that a minority can theoretically have more voice in those other systems you could argue that they are closer to teemu's democracies than other systems. Is any country a pure democracy?

You were the 1001st poster, silly.
This is all academic terminology, but if you really want to read about it, go here:I U.S. is actually a polyarchy.
See I have a big problem with this. Then the moron talks about how they are doing their job. It baffles me. I just don't understand how anyone could think this was okay. I really don't. Glad the guy is cool with having guns drawn on him and his family.

Boring as all hell, but required reading for students of comparative politics. I'm sure there are countless treatises by political theorists also quibbling about terms and their use or misuse.
