Yeah thanks for that jackie chan.... power is an illusion, your only as powerful as people think you are and the illusion is crumbling morally, financially and eventually militarily and then you will be left with the reality of an america that never was united in the first place and a society of greedy paranoid racists who will never be able to build high enough walls .....more of a diatribe then a point but heyhoe!

I don't think she wants anything to do with him or his remains.

I'd say make some dog food then from the leftovers.

But even I'm not that cruel.... to dogs.

EDIT: on second thought send him to The Protein Bank!

I think you may have just identified the principle underlying all international political corruption. :lol

Per Saudi/Bush murkiness...I think it's called oil. As I understand it, Sammy Bin Laden was kicked out of all that. He had as much a problem with American oil connections as they had with him. What's truly murky are the Saud connections to Wahhabism. They allegedly export it, but refuse to give up their own power to let it reign in Saudi Arabia? Why would they want to increase the fundamentalists' power, when the fundamentalists oppose them? That's be like the Shah supporting Khomeini.

Yes I detest Saudi Arabian government - their no.1 export isn't oil. It's an absurd perversion of religion

Also while US tax payers have lost billions on Iraq and Afghanistan, US private enterprise have made a killing. Declared profits are over $100 billion in Iraq alone. Undeclared income is anyone's guess. And these are the lobbies and power brokers that pushed for the war in Iraq in the first place

This is no different to bank bailouts. Tax payers lose. Bankers go laughing all the way to the bank. That was the bigger reason I've quit banking as a career myself. Such unethical behaviour

You would have had those companies invest in those countries for nothing? That's ethical? Dump all that money for nothing out of pure charity? We clearly have different concepts of morality.

The one silver lining to the colossal waste of blood and money into the region was that some of it made it back into our economy.

Well I happen to believe the war in Iraq was orchestrated BY these groups and lobbies precisely so that they could profit from it like they have

There were no WMDs. Virtually no Al Qaeda presence there

So what exactly was the reason for the war? Don't tell me you believe the WMD joke :lol

The reason for the war was to attempt some kind of meaningful action in the region without directly confronting militant Islam, out of fear that it would be seen as an assault upon Islam as such. They believed they could change attitudes in the entire region by bringing some semblance of political liberty to one of the secular dictatorships, and hope that the example would spread.

The immenence of a threat from WMD's was partial theater, but hardly a joke. Given six months to deal with whatever they had, to expect there to be any chemical weapons left in that country when we showed up would require a far greater act of delusion. To believe that the man was not pursuing more dangerous weapons (and would have acquired them given the time he needed) would be delusional on par with thinking that Iran needs nuclear capabilities purely to fulfill their electrical needs (which, of course, is exactly the attitude of anyone back in 2003 to whom you might suggest the threat of WMD's in Iran). Chemical weapons were found, but in small quantities, and they did mysteriously turn up in large quanities in either Syria or Jordan. I can't remember, as the news coverage was pathetic; if you didn't catch it when the story hit, you didn't catch it at all. I'm sure if you dug, you could find it, but who knows at this point. Too many people had (and still have) vested interests in any American action in the Middle East failing. (Just ask surfin74.)

An orchestrated war? Superstitious nonsense, and a crooked narrative born of a long history of cultural self-deception. There was no war. What you saw was a bungled mercy mission pretending to get the bad guys for the folks back home. Bush didn't have the guts to take down Teheran or Riyadh, so he decided to play Jesus, and reach out his hand in friendship instead. Save the Iraqi people from Saddam; save the Afghani people from the Taliban. That was the real joke.

I'm sure bits and pices of all this are true. I do believe a lot of it was making up for screwing up not getting Saddam in The Gulf War.

And that had been a concession made to the Saudis after the first war to keep Iran in check (one of the clearer bits of evidence that no one in this government had the guts to confront Teheran). Saddam was an easily justifiable target for them, which I'm sure they considered to be an unimpeachable decision. It was the safest option, and perfect for the kind of Wilsonian 'heroics' they were gunning for. Oppressed populace; blatantly illegitimate regime; no overt Islamism (although he was allowing certain groups shelter); history with the bush family; long standing nuisance and black mark in American foreign policy. For all intents and purposes, it appeared as though they were earestly trying to clean up their own mess. They just didn't grasp the true nature or depth of their errors over the prior half century.

You have some kind of bigotry to air against Americans, or what?

No not really, people are people once you take there flags bibles and guns off them, but as propaganda goes you guys rule, the thing with the american propaganda corporation is it seems to be aimed mainly at its own citizens it can be fun pulling the wings off butterflies because facts can always be proved but propaganda is emotion based but it makes you feel all warm and safe even when its the total opposite in reality.......what pisses me off is how easy it is for them its like you really know but lets pretend along with them because the alternative is looking at the mountains of destroyed men women and children you have created in the name of capitalism freedom or any other crap word that you can hide behind.

Excellent and well said post.

Makes me feel all warm and safe inside. To know the truth.

So, what happened to the 19 year old bomber. Seems like nobody cares about this story any more and the media has moved on.
