And I, too, am interested pending final sculpt. I see the Catch-22 here, a sculptor may not want to invest time in a sculpt that no one ends up wanting, but jeepers creepers, how I hate paying for something that I don't want and that didn't meet my needs and/or expectations. I don't want to just pay for the effort, I want a sculpt that looks like Faith, period.

Hopefully we can talk one of our wonderful and terribly busy sculptors into doing this as a speculation piece, since most of us want to see it before we spend our hard-earned cash...

Despite how badly I want a new faith sculpt and how much I hate the idea of putting it off, it seems that unless some sort of change in direction is made we'll never get any heads made.

So I think we should do two things. First decide on a sculptor, before we go crazy making polls and throwing out a bunch of names we should first see if the choices that everyone wants are availble for sculpt commisions even if they work load if heavy at the moment and it may take some time.

Second get that sculptor to do Fred first, beacuse I think Fred will in the end move a bit better and it will give an idea of the sculptors abilities to capture the likness at hand. Then provided the likness is there enough once we see near final phots start discusing with that sculptor the Faith sculpt. At least that point everyone will have seen and approved a Fred and will have more confidence in that sculptor giving us a new Faith.

I understand that everyone wants to see the final product before commiting to anything but at the same time if everyone just sits around all day say tenative depending on sculpt and we try shopping for a sculptor to do ANY buff / angle sculpts for us we'll never get anything done.

I agree with your statment 100%. Also I am begining to think I would like Fred first. If we can get someone to do Fred, I will commit to two copies right now.

I'm in if there is a sculpt/paint combo offered like the Chris H./Chris C. (Kuato) commissions. Or better yet if we can have at least reach Chowes quota for a full blown commission..since those two cool guys offer discounts for such.

Honestly with the ammount of work alot of these sculptors are doing now especially as more and more people get hooked on thier work its going to be hard to get them to commit to something like that. However as long as you go with a sculptor who shows you the work in progress and allows you to offer up suggestions for changes I see no reason why everyone wont be satisfied in the end. I dont know how all these sculptors work I've never openly commsioned a head, but I'd assume some portion of the money will need to go upfront. That would be the best we could hope for really is that we'd only need to offer up a portion of the cash to get it started and then pay the rest upon approval of the sculpt.

We all want these figures, Sideshow ISNT going to give them to us, so we need to be more agressive in getting them done.

I say go with Chris Howes from the board. He is reliable and open to critiques from his customers. Just look at his custom Joker head thread. And his price seems to be reasonable.

The Fred sculpt would have to be deadly serious to be repainted into Illyria and that just doesn't seem like Fred.

I think Chris would be a good choice to approach. He has demonstrated talent, actively communicates with his customers on the Freaks board, and seems open to suggestions and fair criticisms.

I liked Illyria, but did not think of her and Fred as the same person, except the last scene with Wes. Even then it was not Fred, but Illyria, who had developed, basic emotions, and then feelings toward Wesley.

I love the Fred character to death, but thinking just figure-wise Illyria has one of the best looks in the show's history and just cries out for a figure. Whereas Fred is just a girl in a skirt and a blouse. The real woman is a goddess, but I think Fred makes for a boring figure.

Plus, whe I think Team Angel in the latter half of Angel, I dont think of everyone and Illyria, I think of everyone and Fred. We need team angel first, then seconday charchers after, Illyria, Lindsey, etc.

once again, cool character but are we just gonna slap a head sculpt on a naked buck body? i dont want an illyria unless someone makes an accurate costume and i dont want a beast unless someone makes an accurate body complete with hooves.

While I agree that Illyria is the far more visually interesting character, I would think that most if not all of us don't have anywhere near the necessary skils to create her outfit. It make no sense to make a headsculpt for Illyria if getting an outfit for her is practically impossible.

Grrr Arrrg, you guys are right about that. I could make my own, but I didn't consider others in that respect. I apologize.

Still though, the vote was Faith right? I still hope you go ahead with her first. I never bought Sideshow's because it was awful.

Faith won the poll, however due to the whedonville folks who want commisions being so few in numbers and a good number are dependant on the sculpt it seems that going with Fred first to get an idea of the sculptors abilities to capture female likness and also how receptive they are to out changes/ requests, will be easier. Its a sculpt that most everyone wants and since there is no sculpt to compare it to hopefully people will be a little bit easier going and are willing to commit to the sculpt. Then hopefully we'll get our new and imporved Faith.
