There is no need to subscribe to only one film studio when they're all capable of delivering great Marvel movies.

:goodpost: :exactly: :clap

I miss the days when people didn't care who financed the movies

Word. I mean if every single bit of a news about an upcoming movie is stupid or idiotic then anticipating a stupid or idiotic film is just absurd.

You must mean every bit of rumour since the official info is scarce at the moment.

The news hasn't been stupid or idiotic. You just don't like it. There's a difference.

:lecture

Loki was a great villain in the first Thorr.

Only time he's been great imo. He was a fleshed out and dynamic character. Since then he's become buffoonish and too arrogant for my tastes

The apparently official synopsis

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

I wonder if they are going to have Reed discover the Negative Zone in this film and use that as the origin of their power? Just a guess.

I still hate most of what I'm seeing. I really want to see the FF head home to Marvel Studios.

That's how it happened in the UFF comics. The synopsis seems comic accurate in that regard.

Despite the campaign Fantastic Four rights aren't changing hands any time soon, no matter the box office or reception this movie gets

Fox will retain them for another seven years in any result, so those saying they'll boycott to get the rights home are acting moronic as there's no cause and effect between the two.

They may opt to sell them to Disney but Disney most likely won't decide to buy since they have movies booked until just around the time they'd get them back for free and actually be able to use them.

I can't see them spending the money to have them collecting dust until the point when they could get them scott free. It'd be like buying a computer that you'd get for free in seven years only to leave it in the box for seven years before opening it.

"Great." JFC.
Another Pollyanna.
It's a very vague and general synopsis that can be deemed as being basically comic-adjacent, with no meat to chew on at all.

Another? I'm one of the originals.

And, that's why I said so far, this official synopsis might be the most official news we've gotten aside from the casting.

I wonder why you don't have a problem with people that react to rumors with absolutely no meat to chew on.

Crazy concept, but we could actually discuss the flick, have different opinions, and still be respectful of each other. :dunno

Is it just the newer guys who get the lessons in etiquette then? How long before I can stomp around and have people rationalize my behavior away?

How does that synopsis approach anything even slightly related to "great"? There's nothing to it, beyond being the same F4 premise of the first comic. By that rationale, everything is going to be great, and experience and judgment are useless tools we should never depend on and just be happy with everything. :)

Its great to me based on it not sounding like a crazy huge departure like some rumors have suggested. The movie still might be, but that's why I said so far, at least the synopsis sounded good.

I better see you analyzing the next person that rips on this movie based on the next small rumor we get, otherwise I'm just going to have to group you with the rest of the negative Nancy's that claim they don't want this movie to fail but rip on it every chance they get.

If there's nothing to it to be considered great then it conversely cannot be considered bad, true?
