I doubt it, he's probably the most hated man currently working in Hollywood and I don't see that changing for quite some time. The only thing that can possibly save his career is directing a Marvel Studios film. Otherwise he'll probably retire being known as the pretentious guy who only made crappy films.

...aaaaaand you lost me. This most hated man in Hollywood stuff is ridiculous. There's a vocal sect of people who like to shout from the rooftops how pretentious and overrated he is, but that doesn't make what they say true. At the end of the day, The Dark Knight Trilogy aside (which I still loved), to say that he's a crappy director is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. Go ahead and say he's overrated, if you want, but to call him "crappy?" Honest question: have you seen some of the utter dog **** that comes out of the Hollywood machine? Love him or hate him, you should at least respect him for trying to raise the bar a little bit.

Now let's be honest here...

"Prestige" and "Inception" are nothing special.
They are solid and interesting films but not something groundbreaking and definitelly not perfect.

Same goes to BB and TDK.
They also didn't start this CBM era and they weren't unique on the technical level.
What TDK truelly did is pushed this stupid "gritty and realistic" trend to the point of no return.

But Nolan has like an arm of loyal fanboys who praise everything he does :dunno

I know, I'm one of them. We're a union with membership cards and everything. :lol But the Marvel fanboys and the Tim Burton/Batman fanboys are many and their hate is strong, not to mention not all Batman/DC fans are Nolan fans, and not all Nolanites are Batman/DC fans, just TDKTrilogy fans.

We are being honest. NONE of those movies listed are "crappy films." Fact.

What I said. :lol
Just wanted to clarify that they're not great.
And that there are two obvious reasons for the strong hate toward them nowadays - waaay overhyped and overpraised.

I was being sarcastic and speaking in hyperbole, I don't think he's made a bad movie yet, but with the way some people speak about him on here you would think he directed ever single one of those Resident Evil films.

The reality though, is that there isn't that much hate. The mainstream public doesn't dislike him or care, it's just a minority of fanboys that love and hate him. As I like to call them (myself included) the 1%, which makes little to no difference at the box office. But you do see a lot of them in little pockets here and there, especially in some forums, but again, it's not relevant in the mainstream.

Ah, I gotcha. In that regard, I agree. The way some people treat him on the forums, you'd think he personally insulted each and every one of their mothers.:lol
