"What he is going to do is unlike anything anyone is anticipating. There is a cut kicking around but I haven't seen it yet. So, I'm expecting big things."

Oh, well...glad to know that you haven't seen anything and are expecting big things. I'm sold. :cuckoo:

Memento
The Prestige
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Inception

Only made crappy films. Right.

Where Insomnia, Interstella and TDKRising at brah?

Two of those are his best according to _______ .

Now let's be honest here...

"Prestige" and "Inception" are nothing special.
They are solid and interesting films but not something groundbreaking and definitelly not perfect.

Same goes to BB and TDK.
They also didn't start this CBM era and they weren't unique on the technical level.
What TDK truelly did is pushed this stupid "gritty and realistic" trend to the point of no return.

Inception is poo, I agree. Audiences were gullible in 2009 and 2010.

But Batman Begins is good tings, well, until it's third act.
Prestige is good tings, well, until it's third act.
The Dark Knight is good tings, well, before it's final act.

Memento is probably the best. No silly macguffins, no preachy dialogue, no over explanations, and no "acts" to worry about. Perfect movie with great replay value.

Nolan isn't bad at all. He has more good movies on his resume than bad. He's just starting to fall into that phase that all directors fall into. He should do smaller movies again.

Mark Millar Comments On Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR

Here's an article about..................nothing I think :lol

Da fudge did he say? "James Mangold doing The Wolverine, Josh Trank doing Fantastic Four - it all feels in very good hands" My favorite parts though were, "you can't trust the brand", Really? "There is a cut kicking around but I haven't seen it yet." and "It's the same characters in all of these movie" Well, except for computer nerd/hacker Victor Domashev :lol

Haven't seen Interstellar. I like TDKR (thought it is getting increasingly harder to be in the mood for) but I know it's polarizing. Insomnia was just "okay" IMO.

Inception is poo, I agree. Audiences were gullible in 2009 and 2010.

I finally saw it for the first time just last year and loved it. :lol

Watch it again. Inception is a chore to see multiple times. Actually, don't. If you liked it the first time, don't watch it again.

You think TDKR scenes are bad with the exposition on new viewings? Holy crap. Just try and see how long you can last Ellen Page and Leo discussing limbo. Hnnnggg!

He's not wrong though. Batman with Joel Shchmacher as Director is a whole different animal than Batman with Nolan as a Director.

Characters and concepts are the same but how they're presented is entirely different and that stems from the Directors interpretation

All of Nolan's films are boring, but people either love that or they hate it. His "best" film, TDK, is boring as hell too if it wasn't for the quick Joker scenes. The film starts with the bank heist, great. Then we get the what's Gordon and Batman been up to with the quick set up of the female cop's mom being in the hospital...what? So after Bats stops Scarecrow and the Italian, that's where it all becomes endless amount of talking until the Joker shows up again. But even then, when the Joker shows up again, he was just doing more talking. There's no action until Batman goes to China to get Lau...and even before that, we need to get another "business" meting with Lau and Fox, where they don't deliberately waste our time, just accidently wasted it :lol TDK is really like Law and Order, but without the hot chicks :lol

Eh, you're not wrong. :lol

I'd be lying if I said I didn't skip to Joker scenes. "What's this Bruce, Rachel Dent crap? Rome, Caesar? Huh?" *skips to Joker mob scene*

"Boring" isn't something I've ever associated with Nolan. I guess it's not balls out Michael Bay explosions though.

I also thought Insomnia was very good, as well as Inception. But agree that Nolan has been overhyped ever since he did the Bat-films. He doesn't walk on water, but he did make some of the best comic movies ever.

The only Nolan film I've been able to watch multiple times on a regular basis is Begins. His movies have great stories but I find just once is enough for me. I know everyone loves the TDK but everytime I've watched it it feels like a main course of drama and a side dish the size of a knob of butter of Batman :lol

So, how did we get to this anyway? Is Nolan now helping the Fantastic Four movies?

I don't want to give the wrong idea...I love the Nolan films. I actually thought the best part of Inception was all the explaining/exposition in the beginning where they repeat things several times to make sure the viewers get it. Once they went on the mission it was ok, but the beginning was my favorite part. I liked Insomnia too.

I hope F4 is good. If not there's always....:monkey3
