"There have always been two categories of Sue - the slutty secretary version, and this brilliant scientist version."

Well at least he totally understands Sue, so that's a good thing.

Oh, wait, he actually has no ****ing idea what he's talking about, as usual, and should just GTFO of here.

I can't believe someone knew the name of that guy, though I definitely remember him in commercials.

Yeah that pissed me off somewhat, I read FF through the 90's and she never once came through in that manner. Infact she was the biggest badass of the bunch because the moment her family were in danger she would cut loose. She was almost like Green Lantern in that she would project all kinds of objects with her mind (albeit invisibile) :lol

"We've had time to figure out every single iconic and subtle aspect of the Fantastic 4, and how it can organically belong to this film."

Apparently we've had Trank pegged wrong all along. He knows everything that could possibly be known about the FF, and how to perfectly translate said knowledge onto film in a way that represents the totality of their 50 year comic run. Phew.

So this is going to be a Cronenberg movie, an Amblin movie, a tragedy, a reflection of the 21st century mixed family, and they've decided to go in the opposite direction of comics that pop off the page.

NAILED IT.

Anyone remember that old SNL skit about the car commercial where they had two teams designing one car called the "Paradox?" One team made it with five doors, the other with just one, one team made it impervious, the other designed it to shatter on impact, etc.

That's what I'm reminded of when listening to Trank talk about this movie.

"We're not making a movie that looks like it came from the comics. We've made a movie that incorporates every iconic and subtle aspect of the comics."

And I love it when someone take's their singular experience and then tries to play the "I made it modern and contemporary" card. Yeah, every household in America has white and black family members sitting together at Thanksgiving dinner. How so 21st Century of them. That guy sounds more and more clueless every time he opens his mouth.

What was that quote from the guy who saw it? "If you liked Chronicle, and you ARE Josh Trank, you'll probably like it..."

No, his quote was, "It's. . .good."

IIRC the full exchange was:

Fox Marketing: "What did you think of Josh Trank's Fantastic Four?"

Matthew Vaughn: "It's good that this garbage is going straight to video because I can't imagine--"

Fox Marketing: "--stop! That's enough, we've got enough for a quote, thanks!"
