What happened was Trank said there's different versions of Sue that include slutty secretary and scientist and they were doing the scientist version. People (over)reacted thinking how dare he say that about Sue.

Afterall it's not like she has dressed slutty

Or been the woman helping out the men folk like a secretary

Thankfully we're not getting ^ that Sue and instead getting a stronger character

So dressing like every other female comic character in the '90s makes her a ****. . .and not only that, it constitutes one of two "categories" of Sue that have ever existed in comics, despite the fact that she couldn't have maintained that look for more than a few months. Faith in Trank--restored.

There's been tons of versions of course. He highlighted that as its the polar opposite to the independant and stronger version of the character that's being adapted

Whether people like it or not that Sue is an official version of Sue so all that him referencing it shows is comic research

IIRC that kiss took place after Reed was presumed dead and Sue became the leader of the FF.

So that's a poor example IMO.
