If so, then that's some modern Dr. Doom. Maybe even Ultimates Doom. Classic Doom never had psychic powers. He was a genius, and dabbled in sorcery, but nothing like making everyone's head explode.

He was kind of doing something similar in the 90's cartoon too, but I wouldn't call it psychic powers, maybe it had something to do with his technopathy and electricity manipulation. I don't know if he can generate some kind of high pitch sound that it makes people's head explode, which is what he was doing in that scene...I think.

Dont care for the comic.
Doom s scary and a monster, love Toby Kebell (koba in planet if the apes).
Movie started real good (felt Cronenbergian even) the end is your average comic flick.
Hoping for Trank´s Dc since its clearly has been reworked.
I ll take this over any avengers and iron man boring stuff.
And yeah Trank loves Akira.

I don't care for the F4 as a comicbook property either, never have, I hardly care about Marvel comics at all these days as it is.

This movie looked good in the trailers and I'm shocked with the reviews, and a bit amused too :lol

If this movie is really as bad as the "critics" are saying, which I doubt, too bad, but that doesn't mean the F4 are "unfilmable", sure they haven't been relevant in ages but all it takes to get a good movie is to have someone who loves the property in charge, I love Akira and I liked Chronicle in part cause it was Akira-esque, the fact that Doom is a bit like Tetsuo here appeals to me, but turning a property into something they're not to put your "own twist" rarely ever turns out well.

I still don't understand why these movie companies never get a comic book writer to write a comic book film?

Wow. They really ****ed the pooch on this one.

Well, *******. I really thought Batman V. Superman was gunning for the most depressing interpretation of superhero comic books ever, but turning The Thing’s cheesy battlecry into an oath uttered by his brother right before he beat young Ben is practically the grimmest, darkest, grim-dark utilization of comics canon I can even conceive of.

Is This the Worst Moment in the Fantastic Four Movie? God, I Hope So.

I don't know, all these posts and videos is making this movie sound awesome!

Doom from that clip reminds me of the Husk enemies from Mass Effect.

"I made every single choice knowing that people would question it," he said. "And what better reaction than to have people then go see the movie and understand it and feel like maybe they've learned something about the world, to not question the next thing they think is going to be stupid or weird. I think that's my purpose right now in my life." - Josh Trank

Another batch of reviews:

Second Wave Of FANTASTIC FOUR Reviews Arrive And They're Somehow WORSE Than The First

As to Trank's comments, one reviewer didn't exactly come out of it like he wanted, he says:

You can feel this giant film straining for indie cred. Mara’s character listens to Portishead to unwind. Teller and Jordan share a nice moment where dorky Reed Richards responds to Johnny’s fist bump with a gentle open-palmed pat. Yet none of these details fit into the whole. They’re just weird kinks, mumblecore-y elements in another shiny franchise picture whipped out for a quick buck.

ouch.
