The vibe I'm getting at this point is very similar to the one I had with Man of Steel, and both are cases where the creative folks took a totally inappropriate tone with a beloved comic character/team. I wonder if those aren't related issues. I mean, the FF as a "dark and gritty, brutal and realistic" film just doesn't make any sense on its surface. That's the antithesis of that team. Same with Superman.

Yes question #1 of any filmmaker who is directing a new superhero movie should be: "Am I trying to out-Batman Batman?" Question #2 should be: "Am I actually *making* a Batman movie?" "No? Okay, maybe should I rethink the House on Haunted Hill horror asylum crap..."

Come again?

The only reason they go to the other dimension is because Reed, Doom and Johnny get drunk. Seriously. It is awful and people will probably be talking about how whack this set-up is for years.

Hahahah . . . Oh come on . . . surely you jest! Right?

Oh and Johnny talks about Instagram while he's in the parallel dimension. Frak this movie.

For Rupert & Co:

Doom doesn't show up until the final 20 minutes and his screen time is only about 15 minutes. Oh and he looks like some sort of Downs Syndrome sock puppet, just awful.

Akira much?

that's actually kind of funny considering Chronicle was very much like Akira, I assume Trank is probably a fan lol I don't really mind the violence in the clip and think it actually looks cool, but if he can make people's heads explode like that how can the team fight him? wouldn't he just blow all there heads up?

LOL

Well, here he doesn't look like Doom, he doesn't act like Doom, and he doesn't have powers like Doom. But once he completes his ensemble with the large garbage bag he yanks over his head as a hood, then it's pretty obvious I guess.

He doesn't look like Doom, but his powers are ok. I've seen him kill with his mind...or whatever he was doing in that scene.

If so, then that's some modern Dr. Doom. Maybe even Ultimates Doom. Classic Doom never had psychic powers. He was a genius, and dabbled in sorcery, but nothing like making everyone's head explode.
