I would. Both young and old Magneto as the same character. He's so much more than a villain, he's just a great character, but he also happens to be villain, even though he thinks he's doing the right thing. I like that. He's always in that grey area and walking that line between good and bad.

Thinking about it, you're probably right, but I actually think Brian Cox's Styker was just as good as Mckellan's Magneto. His performance was certainly better to me, his motivation is similar and he's not just an evil guy. Fassbender's Magneto is incredible though, he probably would make my all time villains list.

This dark take on Fantastic Four was doomed from the start.

Thinking that a greenhorn like Trank could manage the production was a stretch.

Turns out the Fox fanboys had another thing coming.

Fox's reputation with the Fantastic Four property has been torched.

The box office profits for this film will be invisible.

So hilarious to read the Fox & Trank apologists attempt to polish this turd.

"Marvel's a bully!" "Disney bribed the critics!"

Well, when garbage like Ant-Man & Iron Man 3 sit certified fresh while this actually good movie sits at 9%, you kinda wonder if some of these reviewers aren't on the Disney payroll. Heck, since Disney acquired Marvel Studios they haven't had a film not come in certified fresh. Even crap like Thor: The Dark World got a pass from critics. Not even Alan Taylor likes that movie.

Also, based on your celebratory stance on FF's critical and commercial failure I can only surmise you haven't even seen the film and are just another Disney bandwagoner that thinks the MCU is perfect when in reality its filled with lifeless, generic movies and continues to send some of the film industry's most talented auteurs running for the hills.

I'll reserve judgment until I see it tonight

Kinda shocked at low reviews

These are like TMNT reboot bad, and I actually enjoyed that movie

Better than original

Good. Hearing about people that are actually waiting to see the movie before determining its quality somewhat restores my confidence that we do live in a logical society.

Are you someone's agent? Trank's little brother maybe?

I can't think of one visually interesting character from any of the X-movies that references the source material in a compelling way.
There aren't many, admittedly, but I think they did a pretty great job with Nightcrawler, Mystique, and even Storm in X2 (black was her primary color in the comics, also).

you're calling Ant-Man garbage and then calling Fantastic 4 a Good movie? :lol:cuckoo:

The Critics have it right...It was an absolute bore-fest,with little action and a disgrace towards all the F4 comic characters

Mystique is great in X1, X2, and X3, but she really needs the white dress. The whole naked thing is fine every now and then, but I don't get why she can't wear her white dress. It's so memorable....in the comics and cartoons anyway.

I thought Ant-Man was a bore-fest, F4 is a mess though.

I get where Snikt is coming from, I found a lot to like, but the editing killed the movie.

There's just so much I could pick at, Johnny and Sue barely have any scenes together, I don't even remember if Ben speaks to Sue in this movie, how Ben is able to even go to the N-Zone is ridiculous, he's literally sleeping in his bed when he gets a call from Reed to take a trip to another dimension with him, and he goes, how they're able to take that trip by themselves and so easily with limited monitoring is crazy, Sue never goes with them but gets a taste of the N-Zone when they come back and she's hit by a shockwave, Doom is stuck on the planet for a whole year, they never describe what he was doing how he survived, does he even eat? Is he even capable of eating? :lol Reed wakes up and leaves his best friend behind, he somehow escapes an Area military base and he has no clue how to use his powers yet, instead of seeing them learning to use their powers, how it affects them and how they cope, the movie jumps ahead 1 year with Reed set up at some hideout in Panama with the same containment suit as the rest of the team, when the hell did he get that suit? Once they find him, instead of telling Ben he was working on a cure to save them, he stays quiet and let's them believe he planned to leave them there and never return, and then Doom shows up and the movie turns into something else. I can go on on the problems the movie has, but there's a lot of good in it too, so much was taking out of the entire movie, not just the 3rd act that it's a mess all around. Even if Trank's version was really dark, and rated r, I bet it would have made more money than what Fox ended up editing together.

One question

Is DOOM an antisocial internet blogger?

Or was that just a *** at internet critics?

Edgar Wright was right to walk away from that movie. Its generic crap at its finest. Its absurd that it currently sits at 79%. It should be in the 50s.

Trank's FF was far from perfect but at the lowest deserves to be in the high 60s (where it would have been had this been a Disney/Marvel Studios production).

Initially I think he was supposed to be, but they seemed to edit most of his scenes out. The first scene with him he certainly looks like a recluse and a hacker who is anti government but they never really go into detail. All you really find out about him is he's anti government, that's pretty much his motivation. Some scenes show he's cocky and has a ego but it's more of a tease and they seemed to skip over his whole rivalry/friendship with Reed.

I'm usually not cynical but I agree, how Ant-Man ended up getting great reviews is mind boggling. I know everyone thinks I just hate Marvel here but I had no problem admitting how much I enjoyed Winter Soldier and Guardians last year, I thought both were solid films but Ant-Man and even Age of Ultron which also suffers from editing, were just really bad movies to me. I honestly believe if Marvel released the Tim Story F4 movies today, they would get good reviews, which is scary :lol

The Avengers movies are not solid storytelling masterpieces

But AntMan

It is what it is..

A popcorn movie. I didn't think it was bad, in fact after AOU I was relieved in wasn't a cgi cluster ****
