Oh yes, Marvel is clearly going full steam ahead regardless of the characters they no longer have access to. Spidey will just fight the Inhumans in Secret Wars, Red Skull or Ultron could take the place of Dr. Doom in any given story, and so on.

But nevertheless if the opportunity presents itself I'd still love to see Jackman instead of whatever replacement Inhuman, Doom himself, etc.

I'm wondering if this is so bad Marvel could just sue Fox at this point for damaging their intellectual property that is the Fantastic Four. The film being so bad could effect their sales of comics, merch, etc. Threats of a law suit might be enough to get Fox to sell them back and cut their losses :lol

That could probably be a case they could make....if, you know, they didn't cancel the comics out of spite.

FF were the first comics I started reading. I legitimately enjoyed the Corman and Story films (not that I'm suggesting they're great masterpieces of cinema, but there is entertainment to be found in them). But I can't bring myself to go see this. I just can't. It's been hard, when I see images of the four of them it triggers my deepest inner fanboy reflex, and the hope that maybe there will be something, some glimmer of decentness to be found here that everyone else is overlooking. But I can't.

Maybe once it hits netflix I'll get a big bottle of schnapps and try to see if it's as bad as everyone is saying.

I would like to see the MCU create more original villains and heroes, not just use the ones from the comics. Why limit yourself to the books? Keep creating new characters. So far they've done that with supporting characters, but a main villain or hero would be nice too.

But then you'd get the "why are they wasting time on some new character when XX hasn't been done yet?" reaction from folks.

Then again Agent Coulson is now one of my favorite characters....

DAAAAAAYUM...Jye unleashed! :panic: :thud: :panic:

This movie pissed me off because of their misplaced arrogance towards fans, looking down upon us as if we're too clueless to comprehend how the mighty Hollywood machine operates.

Now they're experiencing first hand how Hollywood works!

Hard lesson well earned on their part.

Dr. Doom wears a ****ing suit of armor. What the hell is so hard about doing that for a live action movie!?

:lol

Roger Corman's Doom owns ALL so far. :lol

Yup :lol

So Fox is keeping the rights huh? :lol

:lol

It's insane. They throw batman on the screen and it's fine. You don't need some crazy accident that fuses bruce wayne with a ****ing bat and call him batman. Its a guy who has a traumatic experience and goes from there. Why can't Dr. Doom have the same progression?!

Hell just take what Tony Stark did and twist it into a Doom version. What's the problem here?

I hear what you guys are saying, but on the other hand, Ragman has been criminally underused and under-appreciated for decades. I applaud Trank having the balls to finally give us a Ragman on the big screen, even by another name.

Ragman lives. :rock

No way, would neglect too many existing characters!

That's the ticket. Any claim that Fox was damaging the property itself, Fox could turn around and claim the same thing. They've tried to sue each other before around the whole "Mutant X" thing and that wen horribly, so I doubt they'd do it again.

I'm sure Fox will try to get them to co-manage something but it should be interesting to see if Disney balks and just waits them out to get it back outright. I don't think we'll Fox doing another one within the 8 years needed to keep the rights as bad as this one has done.

All I know is that Apocalypse better do well or else 20th Century Fox is in a huge ****hole. :lol

I don't even dare dream Apocalypse will tank, given how well previous films have done (and I did like First Class and DOFP, mostly), but it would be great, all the same. :lol
