I think Sideshow should just give up on Europe as a market. They are worthless ingrates.

Usually you are right on the mark, though I'd have to say there's an awful lot of whining going on from N.Americans at the moment :rotfl

European customers are whiners.:lecture

Hey...:thwak

While I can understand where this feeling comes from at the end of the day Sideshow is a US based company, anyone that visits here often enough or buys stuff from SS knows roughly what time the newsletter goes up and if an item has been mentioned here in advance (which it usually is) then you know to watch out for the newsletter. Then they can either go to bed and set the alarm or stay up until it goes up, their choice, theres no way all time zones even with a PPO would be satisfied, someone will be complaining that in their country its the middle of the night. Its always middle of the night somewhere so this is bound to happen.

Personally I forgot about it but then im not interested in it anyway, I was snug asleep in my bed.:D
I do think quite a few will end up on evilbay at rediculous prices.Thats the game though unfortunately, if you want it badly enough, if its a 'grail' piece to you then you will pay it
To each his own.

Since when is someone who is willing to pay secondary price's for a statue not a real collector? Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure someone willing to purchase this on the secondary market is willing to do so because they really do like it. Unlike so may of the "true collectors" out there who are only willing to buy something at retail or less. :lol

I think you misunderstood my point, Woodsy ;-). I meant that if someone was fortunate enough to get one through Sideshow and then sells it on Ebay only to make a profit, then in my humble opinion you're not a true collector.

Hhmm, true but some people have work the next day and its just too much hassle. But then, if they really want something, stay up.

How about doing it 4 hours earlier, so 11pm for EU'ers and 3pm for US'ers... less hassle for all, except i suppose those who dont have access to a pc at work.

Hence my "brilliant" idea of making it a PPO on a Saturday (as 90 % of the world's population doesn't work on a Saturday). :D

I can only say that if it is too much hassle, then it shouldn't matter. I know it is a "hassle" for me at times, as I've become a "slave" to the newsletter release and have to be in front of a computer (whether at home or work) until it comes out. That means I really can't plan anything on Thursday nights or even really enjoy TV or something and have to record it to watch later. Why do I do this? Because I want to and if I really want a piece, then I am willing to make the sacrifice to do it.

As for an earlier time, I suppose they could, but Sideshow has commented that they are a US company and have to do things when their employees are at work. This limits the times they can do non-event things like the newsletter and such. Again, since they are a US company, they probably don't want to put out the newsletter during working hours because so many don't have access to a PC at work. It could be worse... we could always go back to the random newsletters that come out sometime during the day Friday so that people are chained to a computer for the entire day...

And just so everyone knows, I missed this as well because the newsletter came a lot earlier than it had been coming for the last several months, but I'm not complaining because it came after 6PM PST, which is when Sideshow has promised us newsletters will show up... anytime after 6PM PST. Now if they ever release one a lot earlier than 6 without warning, then I will cry foul along with the rest of you, but otherwise, it is as fair as it can be to everyone, because we all know to be checking for the newsletter after 6PM PST. If that means you have to stay up late, get up early, find a PC if you work the night shift, have to miss your favorite TV show, or whatever, then that is what we all do if we don't want to miss an item.

Yeah but then you can guarantee the other 10% (at least) will be on here complaining its not fair to Saturday workers :D

See Lonnie if you had been playing Gears with us you would have got one.:D

I'd include Wrath in that list. Sure he had a bit of a meltdown over this dio., more than likely though, he's probably just not a morning person :D

Well, SS screwed over the EU again... as they seem to think that releasing newsletters at a time to benefit both US/EU is unfeasible for some reason.

For the record, i think this piece is great and much better than the regular. I have neither since my WETA collection serves me fine.

I think the newsletter timing is perfect. After work, but before bedtime. I think SS understands this too. There's no way I could click refresh every 5 minutes if at work. It's probably one of the last things done before the employees at SS turn off the lights and call it a day.

Sorry, but the EU will have to adapt their schedule on this.

:rotfl

Now if you had paid ANY attention, you would have noticed that we weren't complaining about the time the NL came out, but the time of the pre-order of the dio :monkey5:rolleyes:

Really...then why was I reading about "oh the time is unfair it comes out at 3 Am here"....oh boo hoo. :monkey3

Ehmm... because the pre-order was started the moment the newsletter came out? (Which was at 4 AM local time for me, btw). I have no problem with the newsletter coming out at 4 AM with an announcement that the pre-order will start on Saturday 11 AM US time (somewhere in the evening here).
