Another favorite toy line from the 80's I had was this monster factory thing. I can't remember the name, it came with monster skeletons that you'd place into chambers and "cast" the body around the skeletons. I could play with that thing for weeks.

Are you talking about the Mad Scientist monster lab? That was one of those toys I always wanted (the dissect and alien too) that I never got.

And is the Bionic Bigfoor the same body as the Kenner 15" Chewbacca... I saw one in person once and it looked suspicously similar.

Yep that's it! I also had the Dissect an Alien too. This turned up from a quick search once I knew what they were called:
Dissect an Alien:

And the Mad Scientist Monster Lab:

It's probably best that you didn't get them Galactiboy, they were a mess and I frequently got in trouble for the mess I'd make. I also had those monster flesh kits and those living ice kits listed here:

Nice... I had forgotten about being able to press the little figures in the molds. Man the 80's were a crazy time!!!

Nahhh, I happened to buy those 2 figures a couple years ago from ebay(when I was hunting toys from my childhood).Altough very similar in size, the Bodies were 2 different sculpt. The Bionic Bigfoot was an awesome toy.Very well done and resistant.

It was made. And ultra rare I guess. I saw one at a show several years ago and have regretted not biting the bullet and picking it up ever since.

Thanks for comfirming that. Not sure wether it existed or not had been bugging me.

I found photographic proof!

Six Million Dollar Man: Venus Space Probe

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?

Back in 1977, the Soviets launched a space probe for Venus that crashed outside a small town in Wyoming and, um, turned evil or something, and it was up to our Six Million Dollar Man Steve Austin to save the day. And then it returned a year later or something.

I remember seeing this in a small hardware store in the Midwest in 1979 or so and I couldn't afford it. For years, I questioned myself: why would it be for sale in a hardware store? Why would they make a toy of the Venus Space Probe? Why have I never heard of this since? In essence: Did I really see that?

Possibly the 70's may beat out the 80's for randomness of figures?!?

But can they top the Manglors!!! Here's a commercial if interested.
This is one of those toys I wanted as a kid, and I go back and forth as to if I really need one now.
