I voted for The Dark Knight Rises mostly because I'm more of a fan of Batman than I am the Avengers. Nothing against Avengers but Batman has always been my thing.
That said, Avengers is a close and worthy second. For me, The Dark Knight Rises isn't anywhere near Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in terms of enjoyment and quality. It has good parts, great, fantastic elements and a satisfying end but as a whole it just missed my expectations which weren't that high.
I had a very good time with Avengers, which was surprising to me. It was fun and I loved seeing the four iconic Marvel heroes stand side by side to defend the world. I may have been more emotionally invested in TDKR but I'm not going to lie, Avengers had some great "____ YEAH" moments. Hulk picking up the little puny Loki and smashing him like a rag doll. The interactions between the heroes from the bickering to working together.
I went in really not being a fan of the characters (I liked Cap and Iron Man and Spidey is my favorite) but came out a believer. I had low expectations but came out pumped.
If I wasn't into the story of Bruce Wayne/Batman I would have voted for Avengers despite not being a Marvel buff.
____ the Amazing Spider-Man. I love old web head but that movie disgusted me since it's conception. It's not awful but I just had no feelings towards it, before and after I saw the movie.

I'm ashamed for mankind that these Saturday morning cartoons are even up against The Dark Knight Rises. They aren't even in the same stratosphere.
Alfred abandons Bruce Wayne, Bane's a crybaby, and Bruce Wayne abandons being Batman for Selina. None of that is "Batman," sorry.
I think Batman is just an overwhelmingly more popular comic book character he was going to win this poll from the get-go.
That's not even what I meant, and you know that.
Not necessarily.
Avengers won a similar poll of TDK vs Avengers a few months back.
I think it says more about 'latest is greatest' mentality than anything else.
Though I personally genuinely love TDKR a lot more than Avengers (which I would rate 8.5/10, and TDKR a 9.5)

I voted TDKR. It just had an impact on me the other 2 did not. That also has everything to do with my love of Batman and Nolan's trilogy. But if Batman 89 or Returns would have come out this summer, I would have voted Avengers or ASM above them as they were much better movies. I loved this summer for movies!!!! Avengers was so fun (I saw it 3 times), ASM was really good (I only saw it once) and TDKR was everything I hoped for. Here's hoping next summers Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel deliver the goods.
Not necessarily.

These results shouldn't shock anyone. Honestly, I'd be shocked if The Avengers (despite it IMO being far superior) to TDKR comes within 10 votes.
Especially considering the timing of the poll.
