I neither like nor dislike anyone at the moment. It's too early to form an opinion either way....except on the hotness of the daughter played by Alicia Debnam Carey, that much is quite obvious even at this stage.

:rotfl

My first impression is that I like it and the 'main cast'. Mom especially has the potential to be a great heroine if the writing's good and she has the range.

I agree.

I can't wait until they start firebombing LA, conveniently spelling out "FEAR."

Oh, give me a break, crows! :lol Maybe because it was Andrew Lincoln and you knew him from something else, but I just can't agree. I really like the entire family unit (sister is the weakest but already better than, say, Beth). From the original, sure I'd say Rick, Shane and Glenn kinda stood out but it's not like any of them were genius performances or something. You've watched one show. Try and keep it in perspective until you've seen the season, at least.

:lecture.

none of the people in the new show stand out except for the mom and people are already speculating she might die. (which might be likely) that's what I hope doesn't happen.
I hope the dad goes instead. I will be happy if the mom becomes the new Rick (which is what I said before )

I tried to avoid saying it outright but yeah :lol but ''fear'' not, his replacement will be along shortly, maybe as soon as the second episode.

:lol @ people already saying this show is doomed after one hour and no outbreak. We've probably only seen footage in commercials from like the first 2 episodes too.

Maybe we all should. ;)

Re: Another Walking Dead Show Confirmed

Yep last nights episode really picked up good. Sucks we have to wait 2 weeks for the next though!

I'm liking the series so far, but it has a very different feel to it compared to TWD. FTWD relies a lot more on "fake" scares with camera angles, (how many camera angles have been directly behind the person walking?), ominous music playing and then the reveal, which turns out to be nothing more often than not. I think they have to resort to this type of narrative to ratchet up the suspense since most, if not all, of their audience is already de-sensitized to the actual zombies thanks to TWD. I just hope the story telling gets a little tighter though.
Couple issues I had with the last nights episode:
The mother and Tobias go through all that trouble to get food and drugs from the high school and then left the cart of food behind. (Tobias popping up at the school was another one of those cheap scares. Apparently he couldn't find a knife anywhere else so he had to go back to a locked school and break in.)

Why would Tobias not want to stay with the mother's family? Safety in numbers and all that.

How did the principal get killed? In a locked school?

Why are the LA zombies so much faster and stronger than the Atlanta zombies?

How did Matt get bit? And why was he incapable of calling/texting his gf back or better yet calling/texting for help?

The shows been pretty ok so far. I like the approach they're taking to showing the outbreak starting to build and the governments lack of info causing riots which will put people on the streets and cause even more chaos.

Well the principal walked into the school. He got bit outside. That's why he set off the metal detectors on the way in and they could hear someone coming.

Kirkman or someone pointed out that it's because the zombies are so "fresh" that they can take more of a beating and are stronger. Merle was pretty strong too when he turned so I guess it kinda works. It may also have to do with the virus spreading differently in the early stages. People are getting sick unlike the original show where it's mainly just bites.

A school counselor and student just had a run with a unresponsive principal that tried to eat them. Of course they left that cart and ran.

Tobias is prolly a neglected or beaten kid.

So far in TWD, it doesn't take being killed by a zombie to become a zombie. Maybe he had a heart attack or something. Maybe a zombie was locked in the school.

Fresh zombies.

Why does it matter how? He got bit. As for not calling, guess he thinks he's a big boy that could just walk it off.

Re: Another Walking Dead Show Confirmed

I'm really enjoying the show and the anxiety it creates as people struggle with comprehending what's happening. A refreshing alternative to our friends on TWD.

I think Tobias went in intending to get the food, heard Madison in that room and used the opportunity to reacquire the knife....not that it did any good against the Principal's still-dense skull. As for him not staying with the group, he seem's like one of the few that was "ready" for this and planning somewhat. Maybe he doesn't want to share his supplies or tie his survival hopes to a group of others in shock and ill-prepared?

I really liked the ending shot of Matt's parent's car and luggage and the still open door of the house as well as the neighbor walker chasing the family across the street.

I'm guessing the barber's daughter was coming out of that back room after taking care of someone recently bitten or flu-stricken who will turn before they leave the barber shop...:panic:

I was under the impression that more looters were entering the school which is why the metal detector went off several times. Madison and Tobias were running away from them and ran into the principal.

Fresh zombie = strong zombie adds up, except for Amy.

Your "answers" are supporting arguments for the tighter story telling I am hoping for.
