I was under the impression that more looters were entering the school which is why the metal detector went off several times. Madison and Tobias were running away from them and ran into the principal.

I got the impression it was the principal because they heard him coming in on the intercom too, the zombie noises, which is why they ran. It was like a buzzer thing that schools have now where you have to tell them who you are and they buzz you in for safety in bigger cities.

At first, I did too. I suppose it could be either the principal returning as a zombie or armed looters coming in. After thinking about it, I went with the looters. I have a hard time believing a zombie principal would be able to return to the school and have the dexterity to open doors, climb stairs and not be captivated by the metal detector alarm. They did hear zombie noises on the intercom, but who knows where the intercom noise was actually coming from. There could have been a zombie student in the building (that they were hearing on the intercom) that bit the principal while he was making his rounds earlier in the episode.

No biggie either way.

I'll join the chorus- I think this show is excellent so far.

I want to kill the f'n teenagers who won't f'n listen to ppl who are trying to save their f'n lives.

This is why I really hate teenagers or younger on these shows. Same thing on The Strain.

Re: Another Walking Dead Show Confirmed

The second episode seemed to go by so fast. Just as you really get into it, it's over!

Yup. Son and I are really enjoying this show. I think the pacing from out break to impending epidemic is just about perfect.

Its a nice change from the original show. I was worried it would feel just like a cheap copy but so far it hasn't. Its been quite enjoyable. Seeing the world crumble is really neat. Sure some characters are annoying, but most teenagers are so its at least realistic in that sense. My family kept saying Tobias is going to be the Daryl of this show :lol He's the only one that seems to really get it so far besides Nicky (who nobody really quite believes yet). I think Madison is starting to get it after taking out Principle Obama. Still trying to figure out if they're going to make her the "Rick"/leader of the group or it Travis will end up with it. I'm leaning towards her right now.

I didn't realize there were going to be gaps between episodes. I figured it would be like the original show with no breaks until the mid season. Very annoying! I'm not happy with having to wait 2 weeks now for the next episode. I am curious to see when this show starts up next year when it gets a much fuller episode count. Late spring/early summer with the second half picking up about this time next year? That would spread the Dead out a bit more evenly throughout the year, which was my hope this this show - it would make the season breaks much more bearable if one show is only a little ways off from the end of the other show.

I like it too so far.. the outrage was a bit over the top IMO ... but hey....

Someone said the zombies seam to be stronger and faster... didnt saw that at all

Can't really blame the kid, gotta blame the horrible writing (for that scene). Not once did the adults explain to her what they saw.

True, but in TV shows these days, teenagers just do what they want to do, no matter what the parents say, then they get or cause trouble. I guess that's just a device now to cause drama.

Seems logical that a fresh zombie would be more powerful than an emaciated starving zombie.

What outrage? That the homeless guy was shot? I don't know where you're from but that scene could have been taken directly from a number of cities over the last year or so here in the U.S.

I've liked all things zombie ever since I was a kid and saw Romero's Night masterpiece. So far, I'm liking this new show. I've always been attracted to the fall of civilization part and find it interesting how humanity (or lack thereof) is portrayed and reacts when things start falling apart.

The one thing I find disengenuine about this show and many other zombie related material, is that no one ever mentions the word "zombie"as if it is an entirely new concept that the world has never heard about. They even go as far as to make up new names such as walkers, biters, etc. if the audience is supposed to believe this is a possibility as well as a comment on society, then it is lazy to write characters and a world that have no idea what is going on or what they are witnessing when they see someone eating someone else or getting up and shuffling after they are shot several times.

They have to play it that way. There wouldn't be much of a story if everyone knew what Zombies were already.

Although sometimes it can work well if the characters know about monster lore. I was just watching 30 Days of Night the other day (an extremely underrated movie, in my opinion) and while the characters knew they were battling vampires, they weren't exactly sure how to kill them in their universe. During one argument about what to do, one character even says: "Just because it worked on Bela Lugosi doesn't mean it'll work on these things."
