True. Over here it's Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Hockey. Probably in that order too. Even Nascar is more popular here than soccer.
NASCAR is?? Seriously?
Nothin against it but wow.

I would put Nascar as number 2 or 3 as far as viewership. Football is #1 hands down, 2-3 would be Nascar and Basketball. 4 would be baseball. Then way down numbers wise you got golf, hockey and soccer. If I had to guess order I would say Golf, then soccer(not including WC) and then Hockey. Soccer get the edge purely as it's easier to find than hockey.NASCAR is?? Seriously?

I think that's a misunderstood idea. Yes they love scoring as scoring but I think more important is action. If you look at older NHL hockey where you could just slow it down and keep the game in between the blue lines and not have a lot of scoring chances people didn't enjoy that as much, same with NFL games where it's a defensive game and lots of punts. While it's might be technically great play by defense and enjoyable to those who understand it on more technical level it can be boring for someone who doesn't have a high level understanding. Same with soccer if you have a game like some euro teams like to play where it's all ball control and not as much attacking can be boring if you don't have the level of appreciation for what the teams are being capable of doing. While yesterday's game had zero goals until extra time it was an exciting game.I know the guys in the US love their big scoring sports matches but that game last night proved that despite all the goals and high scoring points a team may get in a game (whether it be American Football or Basketball etc.), one single goal in a football/soccer match can be mean everything.
F cricket.usa needs to catch up with rugby and cricket too.
F cricket.

US will take a plane home and watch as only Howard gets a big welcome.
I wonder if changing the World Cup to 2 years would help increase the popularity of soccer in the US.
It needs to be BIG business which means the companies need to see BIG crowds invested like they were now with the US team.
well, the Copa America is going to start in 2015,
that cup is just for South American countries but it would be cool if they added countries like Mexico and USA as well as the other Central American countries.
the Copa America is a big deal in south america, but if they added the usa for example, not only would it bring more attention to the sport but USA could even win it

The USA and Mexico are always participant in Copa America. They are invited all the time.
As a matter of fact, the 2016 Copa America (special centenario edition) will be held in the USA.
