I really don't get all the hate for England. They're a fair and gracious team, and on balance England have always fielded fair and gracious teams. I'm disappointed they didn't get past their group.

Most people I know hate the English media (TV, Radio, Newspapers etc.) during these big international tournaments. These so called 'experts' always hype England up to the max and it is always funny when it falls flat in there faces.

Although expectations were low for this tournament from an English perspective I would still say that it was an overall embarrassing elimination.

Ouch!

I'll forgive you considering you're probably on your second bottle of whiskey by now :duff

Are you saying us Jocks like a piss up? :dunno

How dare you insinuate that I have only had two bottles of Whiskey. :cuckoo:

I had two for breakfast this morning, I'm well into double figures now at least I think, damn alcohol is finally taking effect.

All joking aside pal, cheers to you as well. :duff

Not hate(on my part) but rather gratification to see a team and fan base(in general, not some here) that have thought themselves better than us(USA) in world football go out so weakly. England was a football power.....but I think that time has long past.

Wait, FIFA is trying to punish Mexico and Brazil for apparently yelling "homophobic slurs" at the goal keepers when they clear the ball?

Said slur is "put0" by the way, and it's in no way shape or form homophobic.

They have a young squad, the Poms will have their turn in the sun again. The Yanks aren't above hubris either. Bruce Arena was derisory of the Australians in 2006, saying they were 'just making up the numbers' - before his squad lost to Ghana and crashed out at the group stage while the Aussies progressed. For me it's about the spirit in which the game is played - I appreciate the way the USA and English play their football. Unlike say, many South American countries, where winning so often comes at the expense of fair play and dignity.
