It's been a long slow road for the US when it comes to local interest, but it's on the up - especially with you saying that local games are well attended. I thought '94 would've had more of an impact locally than it appears to have had from an outsider's point of view. I really hope that the ugliness surrounding Qatar's bid will see Qatar stripped of their right to host in '22 and the tournament awarded to the US instead.

It has been but I do really think we're making strides where the popularity will be in the same zip code as the other pro sports. People outside the US just have to realize the other sports have had a longer time building the popularity that they have. Yeah, it's a ***** to get tickets to games and most of them you've gotta get standing room only, which I won't do because me knees would kill me. That would be awesomeness! No offense to Qatar but if FIFA wants to see things continue to grow that would help. If KC was selected to host some of the games I'd make sure to go.

winning would have a huge impact, sadly now it could go the other way depending how things go. If we don't move on and Ghana does I think it will be a huge setback in the US. While some will totally understand the tie breaking here but many will just go back to the stupid game mentality when they learn we don't go on based on # goals for and against before head to head ever comes into play.

I don't know. I guess if we come out feeling robbed then it could do some damage to how some American view soccer. The rules I think are the biggest thing holding lots of people back in the US because they don't take the time to learn them.

C'mon you Oranges

The greatest team never to win the world cup. :exactly:

Possibly Brazil 82' might want that distinction?

The first half of Holland Vs Chile was scrappy, Holland don't look quite the same without the combination of Robben and RVP in attack and Chile players seem to go down way too easily once they're around the Dutch penalty area.

They are both qualified, it's expected.

The other game is pretty sloppy. Spain aren't looking great and Australia are looking terrible. There'll be a couple more goals I'd guess, both Spain's.
