Crud. I pre-ordred Figma Link & Samus from AmiAmi.com and now realize that under shipping, for both, it says "Japan only". I'm guessing that this means there's a 100% chance my orders will be cancelled?

NOPE.

The Japan only part is specifcly referenceing returns and exchanges.
So it only matters if yours breaks. the BEST Amiami will do for non-japan customers who get a defective product is issue you a 500-1000 JPY store credit ( roughly 5-10$ usd).

EVERYTHING on their site is listed as JAPAN ONLY.

They Most certianly WILL fill your order, ship it to you. the only way it will get canceled is if you fail to pay for it in the alloted window.

I buy from AMIAMI all the time. i also buy from BBTS all the time.

Both are GREAT, though AMIAMI, with shipping ( IF you go air small packet, and you ALLWAYS SHOULD) is always cheaper AND faster than BBTS.

as an example, the skeleton warriors pictured above are 39.99 USD at BBTS.

they're 2140 JPY on AMIAMI, which is ROUGHLY 22$ USD. add 9$ shipping, comes in around 31$ shipped from AMIAMI, and amiami will have them a month before BBTS, And shipping with air small packet takes between 7-10 days.

Typiclay for japanese toys I ALLWAYS use AMIAMI, unless it's something large and heave ( masterpiece transformers) where shipping will KILL the savings.

OR, if it's a Bandai/Tamashii product, as I want to support US distributor Bluefin, to keep the Dragon Ball Z, Mega Man, Power rangers, and Sailor moon lines going, as Showcasing american popularity is helping to keep the price on thise down, and in the case of DBZ, and Mega Man, The American Market sales are the ONLY thing that Is buying them in enough quantites to keep the lines going AT ALL

Also, I buy From Amazon.com when i can get Prime free shipping, but Amazon allways gets things LAST.

So In terms of Speed

1) Amiami
2) Big Bad Toy Store
3) Amazon

In Terms of Cost

1)Amiami
2) AMazon
3) Big Bad Toystore

In terms of Quality of Customer service

1) Sidshow Collectables ( Gotta pimp them)
2) Amazon
3) Big Bad Toystore
4) Amiami ( unless you live in japan)

No problem.

Also, if you're worried about issues with AMIAMI, I've ordered from them for years, and never had one. Hobby link japan is better about returns and exchanges... IF they have the stock ( they, and amiami both RARELY have stock for exchanges anyways) however, HLJ is more expensive. not as much as BBTS, but worth noting.

ALSO, I frequent a lot of toy boards, and in the past 5 years, I've only ever heard of 5 people who have gotten defective toys from AMiami. so it's pretty rare in and of itself.

on shipping stuff

Air small packet is Fast, Low priced, and is trackable, BUT it can't ship anything bigger than a medium to medium-large 1/6th scale figure box ( Think sideshow IG88, or sideshow Boba Fett)

So 4 Revoltech or figma, or s.h.figurearts is the max at one time.

EMS is fastest, most expensive, and has tracking.

SAL is the cheapest, has no tracking, and takes the longest ( sent by boat, takes upwards of 45 days )

Thanks again for all the great info! Extremely helpful to me as I'm new to importing anything.

:duff

I agree informative post thanks! I've been ordering from Amiami for about 6 months now and love everything about it (as a Canadian customer who often gets beat up on shipping from the US).

This thing looks pretty cool. I didn't even know this was coming out. Pics look great.

Been reading the past few pages. Thanks for the great info, lerath666! My local figure store has Link (and Samus) on pre-order for 54.99 CAD each for a November release. So I'll check out AmiAmi and hopefully they'll accept my order.

I have him for nearly a year. He looks great and you can turn him to Left handed.

I would choose him over the Medicom RAH.

I'm getting both the medi, for myself, and the figma for my 12 yr old son. He's big into Zelda as well. Like father like son. :)
