Thanks guys. I really appreciate all that.
Trying to be a paintin' fool today! Just painting and painting to keep my mind busy, and to get stuff done!

Calls coming, and again, thanks. Much to do! :rock

ICU!

Les, first off, wish you and your family the best as always.

Secondly, can't wait to see what that is in your avatar.

Happy trees. Dancing bear. You guys! :D

On a serious note, I was out with Ma to lots of places today. Two doctors and to a nursing home, where we are applying for her to live. yep, finally, we are taking action.

Despite my best efforts, due to her slowly deteriorating health, it looks like she's going to have to have better care than I can do for her. I have tried so hard, and for so long, and to be honest, I am almost relieved that better care can be provided for her. I won't lie, it's a tough emotional period for me, has been for weeks. She's had a lot of anxiety and all and this just has to happen for us all. Now that I have accepted it, I kind of feel a sense of relief. Sad, but relief nonetheless.

I am still working, and to anyone asking still, hang on! I am so working on so many heads! Every day I try to get to a point where I can post something finished, and I am close so much, but since I don't like to rush anything, and the last week or so has been so stressful that it taxes my "creative flow" I have really had to persevere to get any of the work done that I have.

So, I know this is so old and ongoing, I am even tired of repeating it, but try to remember that when I stopped to break for a while, in early April, I had done that whole run of Jokers and a lot more. If I hadn't stopped, I might be much further along, but it may have cost me more than just delays. At least I am quite rested paintwise, and have a smashingly cool work area now, so it is better for me (and all of you!) for having taken the break.
I just had no idea when I stopped that this period would become what it has.
How can anyone know something like this is coming?

Anyway, I actually look forward to her going. I will miss hell out of her of course, and it will change everything here at home in some major ways. But, one of the good ones will be, I won't have to worry about her as much on a daily basis, and another is that I can finally soar unabated with my work! That I assure you is something I need, want and desire, and so does she, for me. That has always been a factor, her sense that she was keeping me slowed and it has worn on her as much as me.

So, that's what's up now. I know I spell out more details than I should here, but all you guys have been so incredibly patient and kind and sharing with me over these last few months, and I feel I owe you all so much. I will deliver! I need to say that. I know you all are caring and will be with me in spirit with this, but I feel I have to keep on reassuring you all, for my own sake, so I can keep my own spirits up and keep my work on point during this period.

This period will pass and I will persevere.

I just needed to let you all know that finally, steps are being taken, real steps, to see to my home issues, and my Mom's health, so that they are no longer in the way of my dreams and desires for my art and my future, but in a way that is best for all in my family that cares for her.

Any prayers and thoughts for her will be appreciated, as it's not all worked out yet, and I ned all the support I can muster. You all literally keep me smiling and upbeat, and that is something I am not sure my meager art can really repay, but I am damn sure trying! :D

More soon, videos, COMPLETED paintups, and so much more!

And again, Thanks. I mean it. Thanks for letting me share this. It helps me to know you know.

More cool stuff to come!!! :rock

I have worked with nursing homes in the past Les. Many (not all) get a bad rap. It's tough work and most employees aren't paid well. Frequent family visits unannounced at different times of the day will help insure good care. I'm sure you picked a good one and I wish your mom happy days there.

Les your avatar is scary. That isn't like you. I think you may have been spending a little too much time with Josh :lol

Can't wait to see what it is though! :D

Hmmm....we'll have to wait and see won't we. :D

Thanks Customizerwannabe. That info helped a lot. Told mom that and she said she'd done that with her own mom years ago, and that you know what you were talking about. Thanks man! :rock

Hey Les,

I spent almost 4 full hours (being interrupted for hours by a 2 year old baby) reading all TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE PAGES of your Thread here.

First of all, hope your Mom is doing well!!! Second, your work is simply amazing. I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am by all the figures, heads, and everything!

I was going to talk to you PM style to see what was still available from you heads wise.

Also, to see if I can get on the waiting list for some custom work. So, drop me a PM when you get the time. IF you get the time!! haha

Again, your work is truly amazing!

---Chuck

Sorry for barging in here, but, your PM box is full and I lost your e-mail address.

Any news on the Cpl Hick's head? We did a trade for the 12" Metaluna Mutant for it.

Working on 'em bro! Your's and about 35 others. Taking some time is all. Hang in there. Won't be long now. You and the others are not forgotten. I even added five new heads to the list in the last couple of weeks.

BTW, my current member name Les Walker is open PM wise. The old ones, are closed accounts, and I have no way to check them. Sorry. I had some difficulties with my membership here, and Dave restarted it for me.

Could it be the creature from "Jeepers Creepers" ?

where'd ya get those eyes ?.... :rotfl:rotfl:lol

damn les !.
I keep getting excited that there may even be a 1% chance that is a creeper head. :lol

I'm gonna be disappointed aren't I ... ? :lol

dude, you're doing 35 hicks heads??? you complete nutter! you'll be seeing michael biehn everywhere - in your dreams, on the faces in the street, in your morning cookies... better you than me buddy. you're going to make a lot of people VERY happy with those though.

Well, actually, I am painting nearly 75 at one time. Only 35 or so are Hickses... I see them all in my sleep now, so who sleeps anymore! :google

I am close on many. Every day offers a new mine field of delays though, what with my Mom's current stuff. That frustrates me more than I can say. I am tired from her, as she is sort of reacting to everything and is understandibly nervous about leaving home. Lots to do to get her out, and we still are in the midst of applying at the nursing home. Don't get me wrong, I so love my Mom, I am just ready for all this to end. Long days....

Anyway, I did get some heads reworked yesterday, and am in the middle of several resculpts, namely the Chris Chulamanis head (yes, I have not forgotten dear Chris!) and my Jack Napier redo, and some touch ups of others, that needed putty work before paints.
Paints progressing though.

Customizerwannabe, your blank Hudson is ready for shipping, and Shawn, the two heads we discussed are about to be on their way for that project...(I didn't have to paint those...)

Almost done, Rose heads, Ripleys, Drakes, Vasquezesez..., Legolasesez..., an Old Obi-Wan, some Connery Bonds, a DiNiro, some random heads that I am not sure what they are, but some Eric Bana guys, and of course, in progress still...the building wing of Hickses...
So, that is just some of what's in progress. SLOW on Supermans, but they too are happening. Same with Aliens, Predators and other full figures. Just running behind with all this mass to catch up on and Ma in the works.

Oh, and I am offering a totally new head soon. Not the figures that go with, just the heads, and one accessory...Look for it soon, as I haven't finished on it yet. Something that would be an easy custom fix for anyone, and a really nice and desired figure to have...you'll see! I think some of you will like it...

Oh, and my mystery figure avatar thing...
All I can say, is it is NOT the Creeper guy! Cool guess though. Entertaining. That's been interesting...

More soon!

ICU!

can't wait to hear about the new head Les!!!

I'm amazed at how much you have accomplished considering all that is going on with your mother. You are a machine.

I C U ..hmmmm could it be... SATAN? couldnt resist :) the only i see you i think of that my bros and i still imitate is CLOWN (john leguizamo)from SPAWN

and hang in there my friend. life will get better soon here :chew

Thanks Doc. It's been tough today already. Weekdays bring more Ma stuff. Doctors, tensions, frustrations....must ...finish ...application! She needs to be out there!
:banghead

Anyway, thanks.

Just a look at my ongoing (forever) 12" custom Indy with his newer duds and trinkets from the new 3" toys...(and new Frontline hat which is a better ROTLA type one...old one is on the DVD case at left...)

INDY12Inches001.jpg

Will he ever be finished???? :lol

your indy looks great are you going to mix him up with some of the stuff coming with the sideshow version?

Also as far as those homes go I've spent a lot of time this weekend in the hospital visting my Grandma and the resaon she is in there and is getting better is because she was at a good facility. They noticed she seemed to be having some shortness of breath and called the ambulance to wisk her to the hospital where they found out she had formed blood clots in her legs and and as some by product from that liquid in the lungs and some kind of heart problem but she's doing real good now and should be out of there by Weds. So even though there are some bad ones out there, there are also good ones and I agree with the stopping in randomly a lot to keep them on their toes advice.
