Because I sell swing sets also, besides being the bookkeeper, I get to talk to a lot of moms and they say don't get fooled with buying too much stuff for the baby... half the things they say you need you never even use :D

No kidding! And don't overwhelm the poor kid with toys either... too much stimuli is bad for development of intelligence and imagination. I remember my little sister's favorite 'toy' was an old piece of leather... and it was a HUGE help when teething! She was born when I was 11, so I had a big part in taking care of her.

Those expecting - ask yourselves whether you want your kid to be able to have enough imagination to make a whole new world out of cardboard boxes and old bed linens, or if you want them to be bored silly by all the 'must-have' toys lining their closets.

But one can NEVER have too many books :)

And don't let the grandparents spoil them TOO much :lol

You're still working at Sideshow, right?

Congratulations Booyah and Nessasita. I'm extremely late to the party, but the bestest of wishes to you two!

:lol Those are toys for ADULTS. There's a big difference... we're past our growth and development phases and now we just need things that REMIND us of childhood... it's all downhill from here ;)

When we get a new big box of whatever, the kids drop their toys they have and tie into the box.

My wife is a book fiend and she has my 3 year old son signed up at the local library for story time.

And there is no way to keep the grandparents from spoiling the kids. They listen to us even less than the kids do.

That is awesome... did you guys find out yet what the baby will be? Or do you not want to know? Today is day two that I felt our little critter move while sitting behind my computer at work. What an awesome feeling :) Because I sell swing sets also, besides being the bookkeeper, I get to talk to a lot of moms and they say don't get fooled with buying too much stuff for the baby... half the things they say you need you never even use :D

I am definitely going to do the baby sign language with our baby. Many parents I have sold sets to say it really is awesome and the babies get less frustrated. :)

No we both want the added suprise of not knowing and we are just hoping for a healthy baby :) It doesnt matter to us if its a girl or boy as we plan on extending the family sometime(as long as we can handle this one lol)in the near future.
Thanks for mentioning the baby sign language.Just looked it up on the net and will show my better half later to see what she thinks.
Keep Well.

Hi Guys new to the forum but what the heck.:chew Congrats Ness and Booyah on the engagement, wedding and the joy of having a little one on the way:)
My wife and i are expecting our first in July and we both cant wait.Listen to advice if you think its going to be helpful but just follow your natural instincts and im sure youll be good, thats what we'll be doing. All the best to everyone and their fams.;)

Congrats and welcome to the site Redman!!!!!
That first one is a life changer.
By the time your first one turns a year old, you can't really remember what you used to do all the time before the kids come along.
It is fun time.

Thanks Mith appreciate it mate.;) Been doing a bit of reading and my wife bought me a couple of fun and informative aussie dvds called BEING DAD which have all helped.

I have this movie in my head of what it will be like when the baby is born but i know until i experience it i wont truly understand how it has changed me.

Will be kind of extra special for us both as we have had a reasonably tough year including losing my father and even up until last week we had a bit of a scare with the baby.

Truly i am looking forward to it big time. :D

If I were you Nessa I would chuck the job in now. Instead of taking it until you leave, where they can prepare for your departure, leave and make them feel the punch. See if that smartens them up. It may even provoke them to actually pay you your deserved raise.

Don't bust your butt till the final moment, this is your baby. You don't need their sort of stress or need to spend 3 or so hours a day in traffic. Get out, relax, and contemplate your navel.

Hi creechy, you are right... all my friends tell me to even get a lawyer. You know I said they took 4 shares away... well they made me sign a paper that I sign over 8 shares to Bobby, his nephew. So all these years them making me work for free while being unemployed... because I was blackmailed with you are an owner... all for nothing. And then when I told Bobby how angry I was and how unfair this was his response was that Sonja and Mike did not have the money to take a pay cut. Well it is not my fault they live above their means and have debts. If they would have taken an equal pay cut I would not have had to put 4K into the business and I would still have my stock. He said I do not have a problem with you paying me 4K and giving you your stock back. First of all it was a gift and I should have never signed that paper. But you know me. I did not dare to say no I am not signing it. Guess I am a looser after all.

I cannot leave now. The company is paying for my health insurance and I cannot afford to have no job and no insurance while pregnant. It cost between 20 and 27K if you need a c-section to deliver a baby in the US. Bobby's brother even told me to leave and said it is a scandal how they treat me after being so loyal for all these years.

My plan is to try to sell as much as possible... save all the commissions... and then after the baby is born I will take my three weeks paid vacation on the company and then will look for another job and to hell with them. As for my bookkeeping... well selling comes first... it will be done when I have the time.

Yesterday was the cutest thing... I had a woman in for a swingset with her two year old boy. At first he was shy... but then he was all over me... when I excused myself to go to the bathroom (being preggers omg I should live there) Alex started crying like crazy, he thought I was leaving him. Then when I got back I had to pick him up climb with him on the sets and hand to hold his hand also following him around. Sooooo cute. They will be back today to buy.

I know I am taking advantage off... even have a law suit if I wanted to... but I am not like that. I will believe in the fact that they will get what they deserve and it is not up to me to punish them. What goes around comes around.

I am rich with love and happiness and blessed to have a healthy little baby growing in me. I will find a good job after that. I am sure I will

You have been patient with everything, and now look.
You have Boo(even though he likes SW:D).
And you have a wee lotr lover on the way.

You know how your boss's are, so anything they do should not surprise you.
Unless of course they jump outta the woodwork and give you the stocks back, the raise that you have deserved the past 3 years plus backpay.

We find out what we are having at the end of the month.
Then the painting begins.
We feel it is gonna be a boy, but I thought that with our daughter.

What you need to do is put your wedding ring on a chain, hold it still over your wife's belly... if it starts swinging back and forth it will be a boy... if it will turn in a circle it will be a girl.

You can test this over your wife's hand with the children you had before. Dip the ring three times down next to your hand and hold the ring still over the top of the hand. You know what you had first, a girl right?, so it should go in a circle... then repeat again... should move back and forth for your son... then repeat and see what you get then... keep doing that until it stops and you will see how many children you will have.

I have a girl first and then a boy... but we will see on the 17th if I am right. Every day over my belly I do get the circle for a girl though.

They ever giving me what they owe me... that is something that will never happen. Oh well... soon the baby will be there and then I can start looking a few months after that.

yeah... critter will probably be like... payback is a b*tch mommy... that is for poking me and trying to find me when I was still little :D

The sign language is awesome. Because a lot of baby's get frustrated because they cannot talk and let you know what is wrong with them, with the signs they can let you know if they are hungry or need a new diaper or if they are in pain etc.

I saw kids in the store that when they talked they still used the signs. So they use both. I think it really helps them communicate sooner with us, plus I think we are less frustrated too because we do not know what is wrong with them either.

Will have to try that to see if it works.
We both kind of think it is a boy, but we thought that with our daughter as well.
We will find out soon.

I wonder where Madcow has been, we have not heard an update from him in a while.

Am very curious to see if it will work too. It should. My friend Christine has two boys and a girl and it worked on her too and everyone I did it for. Let me know I am curious to see

OMG... 2.5 more days and we will find out what our first freaks baby will be.

Today as I was driving to work I felt our little critter move again. What a feeling. Now probably still fun until the baby starts kicking me :D

So I have a gf in Belgium, Annemie, and we found out that we are pregnant at the same time with one day apart in due dates. So me pendulum freak I am... asked about a month ago what the gender of her baby was going to be. My pendulum told me a boy. And as you know for me a girl. Normally her next ultrasound would have been on Tuesday one day after mine. But yesterday she was in a lot of pain so she called the doctor and he told her to come in. And she found out what the baby was. Yessssssssssssss... good witch Nessa here was right. :D It was a boy. Could not believe it worked for over such a distance.

Now I am definitely curious to see if I was right on Monday.

I am just dying to see the baby again. We will definitely try to take some more clips and maybe I will be able to take a picture of the little pictures they give me so you can see your little baby Sideshow Freak.

Here are the first pictures of our little freaks face. I tried to take pictures with my camera of the ultrasound photo's but could not use the flash so it might be a little dark.

That was taken on 2/7/08 so over a month ago... cannot wait till next Monday to see how much the baby has grown. :chew
