I sell things from time to time on this board when I have to thin out my collection. One thing I have seen a marked increase in here in recent months is resellers.
Now I dont have a problem with reselling, per se, as I just stated I sell on this board once in a while. But these professional resellers are way too aggressive with their tactics. I post something for sale and they PM me as if they already own it. Ridiculous demands and threats. I work, I can't answer every PM within a 90 minute time frame. WTH?
Then you close a deal with them and they try to haggle you down every penny and threaten to stop payment. ???:cuckoo:
Anyone who has bought from me knows I sell things really cheap m(sometime free) and that I deal fairly with everyone I do business with. It's my way of supporting up and coming collectors. But is p*sses me off when I get roped in by these flippers. 152 posts and most of them are in the commerce threads? Please.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but I had to just speak my mind. Flip if you want to but don't bring those aggressive tactics to the SSF commerce board. I'm just feeling very frustrated with this right now. :(
Has anyone else had this experience? I'm not trying to call anyone out, I just think it's crazy.
I'm a collector. I love this hobby and I like to help collectors obtain hard to find pieces if I can. Nowadays, it's getting harder to do that.

I hate it. I didn't have that experience before when I was seling. Now there's a whole crop of noobs who think they own what you're selling. This is a board for collectors, not flippers. I wish they'd stick to evilbay.

During my sale thread I had one of these types PM me about buying some of my items. The exchange lasted 2 PMs before I decided I'd rather keep the items than sell to this person.

Now if I get PMs from these types, they go unanswered.:lol

Yeah, I've had regulars on the board pm me about stuff practically demanding I sell it at a certain price and when I'd say no they come back with all kinds of "you'll never sell it" type ____. I just tell em' to ____ off and go find it at the price they're looking for it.

I'm always open to negotiate, but there is a way to go about it. I always work something out with an offer if it's reasonable and approached properly.

Hahaha, sounds like my potential "buyer."

Yes I've also notice an influx of people who try to set their own price on my items, its hilarious and adorable.

Or try to negotiate terms after a deal has been reached. That's my favorite.
The style is so aggressive, I feel like I'm talking to a debt collector or a prosecutor.

yes I've experienced and I totally agree with you on the whole "helping up and coming collectors thing" because, lets be honest who wasnt a little bit worried before their first few purchases

Exactly. And I don't need $1,000 for something I paid $150 for. I've sent free sh** to a few customizers and worked prices for people that they wouldn't get from another seller but what I'm going through now is giving me grey hair. I can't wait til the item arrives at its destination and this sale is hopefully complete.

Oh yea I've had these little twerps as well, ok so its x price. Yes. ok, deal hold it for me til tommorow? Sure. Then all the sudden their "offer" drops $100. I don't hold anything for anyone anymore.

I absolutely agree with the OP whole heartedly. In fact I RARELY sell on this board anymore because it has become such a nuisance. There's been a lot of etiquette that has been lost lately.

Since we shouldnt be naming names and all and we cant leave feedback for dooshes, maybe we should start a "social group thingie" where we only invite well known sellers and we can start exchanging names of annoying noobs to avoid...

Wow. I am so glad that I am not the only one who sees this. I'm sorry for those of you who had to deal with it, of course. But it's good to know I am not just crazy. I won't deprive collectors of buying anything I am selling that may be a grail for them but I have to be more careful about who I deal with.

:lol When you say a dollar , they say 50 cents . i know what you mean.

Everything i have ever sold on here , i got PM'ed with a lower price than what i was asking for.

WTF everything i ever sold , i was lowballed a bit :gah:

If my asking price is $190.00 - don't ask me if i will sell it for $150.00 shipped

if i wante dto sell it for that low of a price , i would have listed it at a lower price - i love when they include Free shipping to Antartica

Solution: Inflate your asking price. :lol
