I low ball & have been low balled.... I negotiate & have negotiated......I've ignored pm's and have been ignored, but I don't demand.....sold figures for a lot less then their worth and still went through with the sale...even shipped stuff out for no charge..... it all comes down to how you roll......live and learn, deal with who you want and don't deal with who you don't......this thread doesn't seem to be about flippers but a need to vent about the fun of buying and selling........:lecture

Mayhap it is and mayhap it ain't. I'm just feeling the stress of dealing with extremely difficult and aggressive buyers. It can be fun but I don't like feeling like if I don't agree to all their terms, I'm a scam artist.

Just tell em to F off and move on......

l have had that dumb low ball offer before on here.

l remember last year l sold my Hot Toys Jack Sparrow. my price was $200 shipped. some member emailed me and said can you do $140 shipped. that's just a rediculous offer. anyway l sold him for my asking price and before the buyer paid an other member offered me more, but l had to say sorry already made a deal with another member.

I'll be flat out honest. The majority of the buyers on this board are low ballers. Take your stuff to eBay if you have the time and patience and cover your ass while doing so. When I sold off my collection I took the low ball route because I needed money quick and didn't want the hassle of eBay. I did so on my own terms.

Again lesson, if you have the time and patience don't sell on the boards. Take it to eBay and sell for the proper amount.

l have good experiences on this board selling. l sold my Hot Toys stuff no prob. l would never sell my stuff on ebay, l would loose to much money through fees. it would be the same loss as taking a low ball offer. l might be selling my PFs soon. l will have a price set in my head that l will not go below and if no one wants to pay that then l will keep them.

I don't mean to be rude. However with your English and your assumed eBay auction descriptions it's no wonder why you have had better luck on the boards when selling.

I hate it. I didn't have that experience before when I was seling. Now there's a whole crop of noobs who think they own what you're selling. This is a board for collectors, not flippers. I wish they'd stick to evilbay.

Sadly, that's not going to happen. I don't have an issue paying $400 for a 1/6 piece, but close to $1000? Hmm, don't really see that in the cards for me. Then again, a collectible's value varies with each person, so someone out there might buy it and encourage them (which can and does happen). It's just a fact of life. The prices here still aren't as bad as on feeBay, but it's getting there.
:dunno
Every now and then, you run into someone who's willing to lend a hand or be a bit more fair, so it's really just a waiting game. Took me months to get my HT AVP Chopper last year. I bumped that WTB thread constantly, declined some of the pricier offers, then forgot about it for a long time. Then one night, I impulsively bumped it and immediately got a PM from someone who ended up selling me his Chopper for $350 (since then, my limits have risen depending on characters). Still expensive, yet reasonable considering what a lot of the extreme flippers charge. No problems forking over a few hundred, but enough money to buy a computer is a stretch for me.

I'd say that when it comes to buying stuff, it's half the ability to make a tiny sacrifice, and half patience. That, plus knowing your limits and accepting that a certain item may or may not be out of reach, depending on those limits.

I don't know, I use ebay as a benchmark the few times I've sold. Sometimes, like the poster I'm selling now, I feel like it's crazy for people to pay so much for it, and it may not sell if everyone agrees. I'm not putting a gun to anyone's head. But, I don't see why I'd want to come here and sell it for a ton less unless I'm financially in a position to be generous. Though, I'd much rather sell here and reduce my price by whatever the ebay fees would be and give someone a decent deal by passing on the savings, while still getting what I was wanting out of it. If both parties agree, that's a win win IMO.

eBay works but not always. As long as you are using the completed successful listings as a guide then I would agree with that but if you are just seeing what the current prices out there on BIN items or items with no bids then I would not agree with you. eBay is historically more expensive then the price people sell on here. Just cause it is at that ridiculous high price doesn't mean it actually sells for that amount.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean, using completed listings. Totally agree.
