Glad to help, Duane! Mine comes next Tuesday.... There's not a Hastings around here so it's taking awhile.

BTW, I primed the head but I have a feeling it could be the paint I'm trying to use for his flesh... It's some cheap crap. but i am mixing it with Liquitex paint, so who knows. :lol Anyway, I'll get that thing painted one way or the other! The figure has been together for a couple weeks now and looks pretty damn good. :yess:

I think mine was shipped from Colorado...took maybe 4-5 days.I would love to see IG88 marked down like that sometime.

Cool.I hope the results are better this time around.

Flosi is smart about most things. Some cough spurs cough he could do better. He will arsenal come arsenal around. :)

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So my wife just called me downstairs and had the TV paused to show me a commercial for Collection Intervention... (keep in mind I have a grand total of five 1:6 and 1 environment). Haven't heard about this show, before, so I'm assuming it's new. Anyone else's SO take the opportunity to chirp them with this, yet (in jest or otherwise :p)? I'm assuming there will be others... :(

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So turns out the Graflex I got was a phony... having to deal with a self righteous eBay seller is always fun :rolleyes2:

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yep, that's a raw deal, GB. Surprised that anyone would try and fool a SW collector on something like that as one would think anyone putting together a custom lightsaber is going to know their stuff (unless the seller themselves were fooled). What alerted you to the fact it was fake?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

No stamp on the bottom, 'bout as obvious as it gets :lol some parts of it may be genuine, but the bottom part of it is not.

Seller tried to say it was a variation and I should trust him, when I asked for any reference to support this he directed me to a RPF thread that only showed examples with a stamp :duh

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Whats a Graflex? Seems as though I have missed some vital part of the conversation.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

It's the camera piece that was used to make Luke's original lightsaber. Basically the lightsaber prop is a flash gun with a bubble strip, black rubber pieces and a belt ring added to it. Kind of a cool history and because of it you can make a very accurate replica.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah, that's it in a nut shell. I was a bit worried there was only one picture... but the seller had good feedback selling a number of MR prop replicas so I trusted they were just lazy.

Luckily I'm just out a few bucks on shipping, so it could be worse. However the general price for one in good condition is in the $175-$200 range so that's not a whole lot more than what I paid for this one. Just a bummer to open up something you're really excited about only to have a sad trombone "waa waa" sound in the back of you head :lol

:lol

Sucks you didn't get the right one :(

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Totally sucks, GB. Still, if it's 95% a graflex, it'll still make a good saber. Maybe you can get a bit off the price?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Honestly if I'm gonna go the Graflex route I'd want to be 100%. Or at least (IMO) the stamp on the back is a more crucial aspect than if the red button or glass eye were a repro if that makes any sense. Something about seeing a "Graflex 3 Cell" barely covered up by the D-Ring holder screams ANH lightsaber to me.

totally get it..............9 out of 10 people wouldn't know but you would so............yea, 100% graflex baby......:lecture

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Exactly, if I'm gonna spend the time and money I might as well try to get it as right as possible.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Get 'er done so I can come take a look at it. :rock
