We had snow all day yesterday as well. I was gonna go to work and do some voluntary overtime, but it was really slick and I didn't even get out of my neighborhood. I just turned around and went back to bed. Not worth it.

Our couple inches from Monday evening melted away completely. I like snow, but I'm glad it melts off pretty fast so we don't have to put up with jacked up roads for long.

I've decided on the 2D Hobbit showing instead of the 3D HFR based on what I've read. I don't want my first viewing to be a bad one because I have yet to read completely positive reviews for HFR. I won't miss out on the 3D showing since I will pick up the eventual theatrical and extended Blu-rays. :panic:

You guys have actually been getting above 32 degrees? We haven't been above freezing since like a week before Thanksgiving... Our snow this round was only like 3" instead of the predicted 6" but it still sucked...

I saw Hobbit 2 3D on IMAX yesterday. Was AWESOME! Man, I love IMAX. But it's too expensive. I'm going to Hobbit again on Tuesday, when all movies are $5.

The Hobbit Extended 3D is $22 at wbshop.com right now if you use a coupon code, plus you can get cashback through the various sites. Punk and I do that, dunno about the rest of you. Tons of $$$ saved through cashback sites...
WBSHOP5 $5 OFF $25
WBSHOP10 $10 OFF $50
WBSHOP20 $20 OFF $100

Amazon is like the stock market. They go up, they go down, and with really weird random prices. I got one of my SS gifts from them and of course it went down slightly. And I bought myself a ton of stuff from them. And every single item went down. It's a gamble with them. Some bargains to be had for sure...

It really is. Prices are constantly fluctuating on Amazon.

I'm probably going to go see it this coming Friday. Definitely not in high frame rate. I don't like soap operas.

I saw it in regular 3D yesterday, it was good but I don't think the 3D was particularly necessary... maybe better if it were IMAX.

It was a good flick, only major complaint was it felt like a lot of the movie was spent on unnecessary additions to the story:

The lame love story between dwarf and elf, and said dwarfs injury that kept him in Lake Town. As well as the battle with Smaug in the mountain... while it was a fun sequence it was also a bit hard to believe, had no consequence on the story and just seemed there to make the movie longer.

I'm hoping that after repeated viewings the additions won't bother me as much as I'll be expecting them, but for now I'm not stoked on them.

Well, I haven't read the book since I was in high school, so I didn't remember the specifics. I thought some things were unnecessary, and am not surprised they weren't in the book. That being said, it was still entertaining, and I probably would have been disappointed if the movie had been only 2 hours or less, since they're milking one book into a trilogy. We've become accustomed to 2.5 - 3 hours for a Middle Earth film.

I saw the 2D version today since the local theater was showing 3D HFR. I liked the movie, but I almost wish it had stayed at two movies and been more faithful to the book.

That said, I love, love, love Tauriel. My God! :thud:
