Fingers crossed the more Fellowship we have waiting for the panel the better. :rock

I know! I can't remember what I sold but because it was so odd in shape it cost a ton to mail.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm trying to ship something to Texas. It's a rectangular box that weighs 4 lbs and the dimensions are 26X14X10. They want to charge me $35.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

It depends on what zone you are shipping to as well. If you were to ship that box to Indiana or Ohio (who I think are in the same zone) it would only be around $11 probably.

Yeah. I would've just gone with UPS and dropped it off, but I want this to get to the person before Christmas. It's worth it this time, but I'm planning my shipping better next time.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Thanks guys! I'm sitting at the auto shop now. The wife and I talked over last night and if it's going to cost anymore than $500 we're just going to say f'it and go buy a new car. I've put at least $2K into this car over the last year (not including all the money we put into my wife's car as well). I'm just done. I drive too much and need something reliable.

As for being called in, couldn't you say no? Or do you get OT, so didn't want to say no?

Work asked and I more or less volunteered. I could've said no but the weekend manager is a friend so I wanted to help him out plus it will be 12 hours of OT to sit there and watch movies. I'd be dumb not to take it. I'm off Xmas Eve so it breaks up my work week a little. Hopefully it will go fast.

You should go to a Fed Ex Office location and get a quote for comparison.

EDIT: Damn, I see you shipped it already. :( I hope this wasn't a Secret Santa gift!

Speaking of which, I heard the post office is delivering packages on Sunday this week to try to get caught up. They didn't specify only Priority Mail, which I know is their future plan. I think this Sunday, they're delivering any packages they have in-hand...

Good plan about the car...
As for working, yeah, OT is always nice once you get the check. And like you said, you get to watch some movies so that's cool... I assume you mean porn, right? :monkey1

We didn't get much ice overnight, so hopefully today is light. I don't want to lose power this time of year.

No kidding! We survived the ice storm OK, but we're about to get pummeled by snow. 7" predicted between 6pm and Noon tomorrow...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Damn, you guys are getting slammed with weather! We have rain predicted all weekend and tomorrow it's supposed to hit close to 70! Xmas is predicted to be clear and back in the 30's.

Nope. This is something outside of Secret Santa.
