I misinterpreted your post at first. I thought you meant that a sniping program failed to work for you. You should NEVER assume your bid is safe. My strategy? DON'T BID IN ADVANCE! Just set your snipe for the price you want, and never look again. This way, you don't overpay for something by getting "caught up in the moment" or just "wanting to win". Sniping programs have saved me a lot of money. I don't overpay for any auctions. I only use them like 6 times a year (since I usually just get BIN items) but I still love sniping... So if you lost a bid to a sniper, i'm sorry to say you have nobody to blame but yourself, since you should also be sniping. This is my opinion, but I'm sure you won't all agree...
