I misinterpreted your post at first. I thought you meant that a sniping program failed to work for you. You should NEVER assume your bid is safe. My strategy? DON'T BID IN ADVANCE! Just set your snipe for the price you want, and never look again. This way, you don't overpay for something by getting "caught up in the moment" or just "wanting to win". Sniping programs have saved me a lot of money. I don't overpay for any auctions. I only use them like 6 times a year (since I usually just get BIN items) but I still love sniping... So if you lost a bid to a sniper, i'm sorry to say you have nobody to blame but yourself, since you should also be sniping. This is my opinion, but I'm sure you won't all agree...

It really does. I told him that he's a terrible person and he says he's not. He's a good person that makes a lot of mistakes, he says. Wanted to punch him in the throat. I'll probably be moving out of my place and looking for somewhere new where I can have my mom live with me that will allow her cats to be there. Fun times.

I don't snipe because I refuse to give me account information out. I've had my account too long to have it compromised. And call me old fashioned but I think it's cheating. I like the excitement of sitting there and watching the clock tick down, it's a rush. Hunting and adding key pieces to my collection is a big part of the thrill for me as well. When I win the right way, I feel so much better about it.

I didn't bid early, I never do. I put my first bid in with about a minute to go and watched it. I had to increase once but I was in the lead with seriously less than 1 second left and ended up losing by $1. In hindsight I should have bid more off the bat but who knows, I probably would have lost then too. Back to the hunt...

Why should your mom have to leave? Tell her to kick him out.

She doesn't want to stay there and he doesn't make enough money to support the house and a place for her. The burden of expense would fall on me other than whatever he has to pay her in alimony.

I never thought about that. I signed up with justsnipe several years ago, and haven't used any other site. But it's just your Ebay account info, so it's not like they can steal money from you. They don't have access to your Paypal account.

You're absolutely right, it IS cheating, but if you can't beat em, join em! I was screwed over many times before I started sniping myself... I forgot to list the best reason to snipe, IMO. You don't have to worry about scheduling your life around auctions! You don't have to make yourself be online at 4am just to make a bid, or while at work...

As for Ben's situation, I agree with Titus. She should ask him to move out! But I suppose he isn't willing to. I'm sure that you and your Mom will both be so much happier once you're away from him. Unfortunately that can't happen overnight. I wish you both luck while you guys try to repair your lives. All of us are behind you 100%, Ben! Let us know if there's anything we can do for you...
