Congrats Flosi! That is beyond cool. Once in a lifetime opportunity. :clap

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

100 or 200. :panic:

Yup.... I'm going to do 100. 200 is too much to have ready by the deadline.

:horror:thud:

Wow, that's a tall order! Now I understand why some of the artists "phone it in" and do a crappy sketch. I'm sure you don't have to do them as detailed as you have been. Or perhaps do 20 highly detailed sketches, 50 medium effort sketches, and "phone it in" for the last 30. :lol

When is the deadline? I'm sure we won't be seeing as much of you in here, once you receive the card templates, until after the due date! :lol

I'm impressed you got a gig so quickly. Perhaps because you mentioned Steve Sansweet sent you? That may have been the express lane to the top of the list! Be sure to send Steve an email telling him the good news! :lecture

A chubby deformed Godzilla reminds you of Ben?
That explains why you were both missing at the same time during C2E2.

Kenbenobi :thwak gibby

He's a Godzilla collector, so anything Godzilla reminds me of him! Just like how butt-plugs reminds me of you!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think the only things Sideshow left are an IG-88 Exclusive and an Obi-Wan PF, and Vader not sure, but I'll check and let you know!

1.50 a sketch. They send back what they don't use so I can give them away and sell them. :) They will return a few back to me all fully chromed out too.

Nice! Not bad at all really.

Thank you, Eric! :1-1:

Congrats to your Gunners too. I hope you win the double... And no, I'm not joking.

Honestly, I think I could have mentioned Scott Korman and they would have gave me a shot.... I think the more artists the better for them.

And yes, I will certainly let Steve know!

Did you see This Is The End? Satan at the end was somewhat Godzilla-like, and he had a HUGE wang! :lecture I think they modeled him after me.

WTF did I just read?

:rotfl:rotfl Nah, I'm pretty sure that would have hurt your chances. They may have even banned you! :lol

Big congrats on the breakthrough Flosi! It's well deserved. You have to be giddy. I'll be excited to try and hunt one of these down someday.

Today was the day from hell at work. I really should have just stayed home. I can't believe the company keeps making a profit when it's run by so many dumbasses. The only thing that brightened up my day was coming home and seeing Flosi's good news. I'm really proud of you, buddy. I knew you would get this. I can't wait for your work to become an official part of Star Wars.

Note to self: Never sell Waller anything since he *****es all the time. :monkey3

What's your username on ebay again, Waller?

I've gotta get that. It'll go nicely with my Pacific Rim book.

For the first time I've had to delay my shipment, we're getting a storm shelter installed at the end of the week and that with the holidays zapped my account :lol But luckily it was no problem to shift to a flex pay and have the first payment in February. I'll just pay it in full at the first of the month.

I haven't even ordered Vader yet. Probably will late January or early February.

Hey Ben, saw these on sale at EE and thought of you:

I'm a fan of the super deformed Godzilla stuff.

Can you imagine godzilla's chubby? :horror

Godzilla doesn't have a wiener. He doesn't need one.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So no Ewok Village? :lol

I congratulate you if you go this route. I feel pretty good about not having a whole lot of collectibles. I still have a few more to move, but I'll have a decent setup once I'm there. I finally came up with my list:

1. Kenner figure collection
2. eFX McQuarrie Vader
3. eFX Legend Vader
4. SW style A poster (1st print)
5. Flosi-fied Sideshow Vader figure
6. Sideshow 1:1 Vader bust
7. GG McQuarrie minibust collection

Yeah, sadly I'm going to have to pass on the Ewok Village, I'm sorry. Actually, that's the thing that made me think to myself, "WTF am I doing? Where am I going to put it?" :lol

If I had a room for my self then it would be a different story. The wife and I have talked about an addition but honestly I'm not going to spend $15-20k just so I can display a few grand worth of toys.

Man, that's a tough decision... but sometimes it's worth parting with items when you know you aren't really getting to appreciate them. Over the last 3 or so years I've paired down my collection quite a bit and haven't regretted any of the things I got rid of. I'm still buying, but trying to be much more selective and only getting things that will be on display.

I've done the mini purges and have been ok with it. Every time I say that I will cut back, and I have, but the urges are still there. I try and stay focused to a few things but then I just find myself expanding from there. Not displaying anything is factoring heavy on my decisions as well.

What do you have? I only have like 3 of them but those could use upgrades.

I have almost everything from the first 2 main series and a few from the later Split Seconds series. I have a lot... :lol

Oh, wow! Believe me, I know what you mean! I am selling at a show on Feb 2 for the very first time. I need to start preparing for it. But I wouldn't have the time or space to sell even 10% of what I own! I am trying to narrow my collection down to what I care about the most. Anything that doesn't fit in those areas must go. I'm sure that I should sell more, and eventually I probably will, but for now, I need to get rid of toys lines that I never should have bought. For instance, horror figures. I LOVE horror, and the figures are awesome, but it isn't my main focus, or even in my top 5 focuses. I plan on keeping the Freddy and Jason PF's I own (for now, at least) but the figures must go. And Austin Powers figures. Why did I buy those? :lol Duplicate SW stuff that I never should have bought, tons of DVD's and BD's, and much much more.

Keep in mind that when you sell at shows, you won't get top dollar. But at least there's no Ebay fees. Still, you may want to hold back on rare items, or at least be aware of what they go for on Ebay, so you can try to get at least 90% of their Ebay value. That's my plan, anyway.

I know at shows what I can fetch good money for and what I just have to dump.

Been at a similar spot for some time myself, and have already started "the great purge". :lol

At some point, you look around and say "do I really need all this sheet?". Life is too short, so for me it's about spending time and money on those in need, or on experiences with friends and family. I've basically given up on all collectibles (Sideshow sadly was first otd). I buy the occasional SW comic, but everything else is being prepped for ebay....LEGO, SW prints, Hallmark, Coca Cola...all going bye bye, with the exception of some LEGO sets for my kid (from Uncle Chien :lol).

It's a big reason I don't hang here as much, but I'm gonna try and change that for 2014. I miss my friends...sheet collectors or not. :lol

Dude, you hit the nail on the head. I fear that something may happen to me and all this crap will be stuck on my wife. I don't want that. I'd rather invest that time and money on family and friends. I figure from what I sell, part will go to my Celebration ticket and airfare. Money MUCH better spent.

100 or 200. :panic:

Sounds about right. It might be a bit of a stretch but so rewarding in the long run to say "I did that". Did they give you direct subject matter?
