re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Last one for a while anyways. So all is not lost yet. :rock

I doubt it. It doesn't fall within my spring break and taking off that much time during the school year would probably get me into some hot water. I'm not tenured yet so I have to be careful.

HOT WATER!!! DO EEEET!!!

Totally worth it. Just for the weekend even!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah. New owner..rich spoiled brat who's dad bought him the company finally forced me out. Sales are down 60% since he bought the company..we've have 15 people quit in last 5 months compared to 3 people in the last 6 years I've been there. I do everything there and he tells me Tuesday he can't rely or trust me I'm not doing enough. Keep in mind I'm the only own who knows how to run the place. Scary to leave but had to be done. Cut my vacation in half, told me there would never be a raise and I had to work longer hours so he could practice drums. That's why I havent been in the cantina as much these past 6 months. I gave no health care, no 401k...was time to leave. The company will go under in 6 months.

That blows, but good you got out.

Sounds like he wants it to tank.

I live for hot water, but then I have a pretty **** job, so...

But yeah, take a cue from fury, Josh, and go for a marathon weekend. Or extend into Friday. Would be awesome to have you there with all the other freaks.

VA - happy for you, it's going to be an exciting time for you right now.

Off to see Saving Mr. Banks. Later! :wave

He buys drugs off our employees. Spent the first month loading music onto his iMac. He knows nothing about running the company he bought 9 months ago. If it wasn't so sad it'd be laughable. When you are told you'll never get a raise and I'm cutting your vacation in half its time to move on. I can go work at target and make same money but get benefits.

Ouch. Yeah, sounds like the best idea was to bolt. Sucks that happened.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm all outta rep - only got 10?!? Weird. Anywho, I'll get more of you when I am replenished.

I need some fluids. :lol
I just repped you. Apparently I hadn't yet.

Oh, and just a heads up to those who have their own health insurance...make sure you call in and check that you still have coverage.

We had paid our provider and were eligible for rollover, but they cancelled us anyways, and now have no insurance (they're working on solving the issue).
I would double-check with your provider just in case. You don't want to have something pop up and find out there's nothing there. :)
Whoa, that sucks! Good thing you caught it!!!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Atleast you realized it was time to move on! Only better opportunities await!

It sounds like you made the right decision. :duff

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I hope not. Tickets and hotels were easy to come by, but I'm already expecting a bigger crowd this time.

The only issue with tickets for Celebration will be the VIP passes. They sold out FAST.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

:lol

Well, I enjoyed repping you. You're a good rep. Just lay there and take it...like those kind. :lol

I had to go premium. Was against it at first, but with all the things I've sold here, I owe big D at least one year of payment.
I never sold anything here that wasn't for a huge loss. I think I only made 2 sales total. If I go Premium, it isn't for the sales...

For this year...next year who knows. It will probably go to a Disney corporate sponsor. :lol
D23 Membership!!! :hi5:
Screw SDCC.... Gimme Star Wars or give me death!!!!!!!!!!
Death it is! :lecture
Repped all of you gimps. And bought a super7 alien figure as a gift to myself for leaving my job.
I just repped you! Apparently I had missed you...
Cant wait for Celebration. Should be a good year for Star Wars!
I also just repped you! :rock

That totally sucks. I hope you can find a new job quickly. At least you know it's guaranteed to be a BETTER job!

Weird. Glad to hear you're planning on Celebration! :hi5:

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm listening. I have a business degree. Shoot me details.

No business degree needed....just money and a gambling problem. :lol

WTF. What a dbag.

Thanks!!!

Tell me about it.

Good luck to you, Eric! I know you'll land on your feet better than ever. It takes immense courage to do what you just did, but your happiness is paramount.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Pretty sure its a queue, like Celebration. So once a patron is in they can pick what they want without rushing...

Celebration will never be a cluster like SDCC. At our best we were what, 40,000?

A bit bigger with the new film and all, but I think it's going to rock. The venue is great.

Fear not.

I felt the same way, but didn't read the fine print. Will there be a way to back out of membership down the line? It's recurring payment!

I was at CIV and it wasn't so bad...

CIV wasn't bad, but the venue was utter complete CRAP.
